I think you can't make a case that it's any better than First Avenger.
There is being honest and calling it a good film, and then there is overhyping and overpraising it.

Wonder Woman has a higher RT score (i.e. more critics thought it was fresh) than "Captain America: the First Avenger" - Wonder Woman even has a better audience score, it also had a better opening weekend, and (unlike any Marvel film) it was screened before members of the Academy (for award consideration). That has got to mean something if not better than Captain America.

Better by definition is more favorable, attractive, or commendable, and you asked if anyone could make a better case. You don't have to ask for an RT score. I gave it to you as part of my case for why "Wonder Woman" is better than "Captain America: the First Avenger". Not only what I posted was true, but "Wonder Woman" is on track to gross more at the box office than Captain America: the First Avenger" did, so the former is all the way around the better film.

Now that WW is in top 3 averages for Superhero movies, it doesn't matter. Like it doesn't matter that no MCU movie is in top 3

You try to speak in a language they understand and now they say the don't understand it.

None of those highlight how it's better as a film. You're just quoting reviews and box office scores.
Can you yourself explain what about the film is any better?

Like it doesn't matter that no MCU movie is in top 3 I'm not denying that it's a good movie. I'm just asking can you define how Wonder Woman is any better as a film.

Well, besides the points in that article that i mostly agree with, i'd say the action and the cinematography is way better. And as you know i'm not denying that The first Avenger is a good movie

And as you know i'm not denying that The first Avenger is a good movie The points in the article in the other post we were discussing almost all apply to First Avenger, so I don't really see anything that makes Wonder Woman stand above it. Cap is definitely a story of love for instance, it definitely get's into the horrors of war, it definitely has solid action etc, and I don't see any notably better cinematography either. The ending WW fight looked rather unimpressive for instance, especially compared to the epic ending with the cosmic cube and crash sequence in FA.

Well, i can say almost all points in that article are valid imo, but you wouldn't agree to an MCU movie being inferior to a DCEU movie, we know that. I, for one feel the cinematography, horrors of war and action scenes are much better in WW

It's a good flick, but Best Picture? Then again I thought Fury Road was garbage and it got nominated for Best Picture so anything is possible.

Well........a lot of films get tossed into that pool, I mean Transformers have been nominated for VFX.
I mean Suicide Squad was nominated and won, for makeup and costumes of course, but that simply means they showed the film to academy members, analyze what they believe are the film's strong points and then push for nominations within those categories, doesn't mean they will get a nomination but that's how it probably works.
Now I'm curious to see if WW maintains momentum like Deadpool managed to do last year.

I'm sure WW will get some academy award nominations, but for best picture? that would be something.

I don't see it happening...especially not Best Picture. Maybe some technical stuff...like effects or something like that...but that's about it. It's still a great movie though!

I'm down, though it'll always be regrettable than The Dark Knight wasn't the first.

I, for one feel the cinematography, horrors of war and action scenes are much better in WW horrors of war? There are no scenes of injured or wounded soldiers with amputated limbs, no scenes of towns burned and reduced to rubble, and no scenes of women and children lying dead from poisonous gas in The First Avenger. The First Avenger makes World War II look like a Sunday picnic in the park.

I'm sure WW will get some academy award nominations, but for best picture? that would be something. Will Wonder Woman win the Oscar for Best Picture? Probably not.
But will Wonder Woman be nominated for the Oscar for Best Picture? Well, if this was like the old days (when the Academy nominated only 5 films for Best Picture), then I would say No. But in 2009 the Academy increased the number of films nominated for Best Picture to 10 (ironically because The Dark Knight was snubbed for a Best Picture nomination). So with 10 films being nominated for Best Picture, I would say YES, Wonder Woman will be nominated for the Oscar for Best Picture.
With more and more CBMs being produced, the comic-book movie genre has become a legitimate genre like sci-fi or westerns. Eventually the Academy is going to nominate a CBM for Best Picture. And Wonder Woman gives them a great opportunity to do that because Wonder Woman is more than just the usual CBM.
Wonder Woman is also a period piece movie that focuses on war, a subject that the Academy likes to nominate films for Best Picture. Moreover, Wonder Woman not only focuses on World War I (which hasn't gotten as much coverage in films as World War II) but also does an excellent job of conveying the horrors and brutality of the Great War. It has the main character leaving the safety of her home to go on a journey which she thinks is her destiny but turns into an enlightenment about morality and the nature of humanity. It also has another main character making the ultimate sacrifice and it delivers a powerful and positive message. Those are all themes that the Academy likes to nominate films for Best Picture.
So I think Wonder Woman will be nominated for the Oscar for Best Picture. I think Wonder Woman will also receive Oscar nominations for Best Director, Best Cinematography, and Best Production Design.
