Oh well if the article said it,,,,,
I could list 30 reasons First Avenger is better, but never mind that, we have the article!!!
That's alright. You only asked for one reason why Wonder Woman was better. That was all that was needed. Except it doesn't demonstrate WW as the better film, so you need a little more than that.

i was just reffering to people who were bragging about the MCU ratings and then say ratings don't matter when WW has great reviews. That's an example of the hypocrisy by some MCU fans on this board, like ArArArchStanton and formersamhmd.
Anotjer example. Last year MCU fans were posting links to several websites that had articles saying that Civil War was a better movie than BvS, but now that most websites say that Wonder Woman is a better movie than The First Avenger, MCU fans are refusing to accept that.
Also another example. Last year when it was brought up how Civil War copied BvS (a government building gets blown up, killing a prominent government official; a villain manipulates heroes into fighting each other), MCU fans kept protesting and denying that, but now they want to claim that Wonder Woman (which takes place in 1918) copies The First Avenger (which takes place in 1944). Do they not know the difference between World War I and World War II? Do they think that all movies that take place during a war are the same? Do they think that Saving Private Ryan is a copy of The Bridges at Toko-Ri just because both movies take place during a war?

It doesn't matter which World War it was set in, that they used EITHER of the World Wars means that WW was going for a First Avenger feel.

if Logan (which is more groundbreaking for cbm than Wonder Woman) isn't even nominated for Best Picture or Best Actor (for Hugh Jackman because this was by far his strongest performance as the Wolverine), then it just confirms that the Oscars aren't looking at superhero films and The Dark Knight was an exception because Ledger died. I think Hugh Jackman will be nominated for an Oscar for Best Actor this year, but not for Logan. I think the Academy doesn't want to nominate him for a CBM so they'll make it up to him by nominating him for The Greatest Showman instead.
And there's a very good chance the Academy will nominate Wonder Woman for an Oscar for Best Picture this year. Like I said before, the Academy used to have only 5 Best Picture nominees but increased the maximum to 10 nominees after The Dark Knight was snubbed for an Oscar nomination in the 2008 award year. Moreover, while the Academy nominated 10 movies for Best Picture in the 2009 and 2010 award years, they've only nominated 8 or 9 movies for Best Picture in every year since the 2010 award year.
So there aren't always 10 movies that the Academy thinks is deserving of a nomination. If that's the case this year and there are only 8 or 9 nominees for Best Picture (besides Wonder Woman), then it's not like the Academy would have to remove another movie in order to nominate Wonder Woman for Best Picture. The Academy (which has gotten a lot of criticism in recent years for the lack of diversity in their nominations) can use 1 of the unused slots to nominate Wonder Woman for Best Picture. I think that's the most likely scenario.
Also, Wonder Woman obviously has gotten the most media attention of all movies this summer. And Wonder Woman could get even more media attention later this year when Professor Marston & the Wonder Women is released. The more media attention it gets, the more likely Wonder Woman will be nominated for an Oscar for Best Picture.

Yeah, Indiewire is speculating that Wonder Woman has a chance to get nominated for Best Picture and Gal Gadot getting nominated for Best Actress. Their rationale is that the Academy has now increase the number of nominees to 10.

The Rock, Gal Gadot Invited to Join the Academy
"Several actors and filmmakers from the DCEU, MCU, Star Wars and Star Trek films are among the 774 artists invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Every year, the Academy selects a new class of people to join the prestigious organization, which annually votes on the Oscars.Several actors and filmmakers from the DCEU, MCU, Star Wars and Star Trek films are among the 774 artists invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Every year, the Academy selects a new class of people to join the prestigious organization, which annually votes on the Oscars.
While the Academy throughout its history has tended to favor dramas when it comes to the major categories, a surprisingly huge number of performers and filmmakers predominantly associated with sci-fi, superhero and fantasy films have been invited to join this year. From the DC Extended Universe, Wonder Woman actresses Gal Gadot and Elena Anaya have received invitations, as has Suicide Squad star Margot Robbie and director David Ayer, and upcoming Batgirl director and Justice League back-up filmmaker Joss Whedon."
And as the title of the article says, Dwayne Johnson was also invited to join the Academy. This could be a sign that the Academy may be ready to acknowledge the impact of sci-fi, superhero, and fantasy movies within the industry. Just think: Gal Gadot could be casting 1 of the many votes to nominate Wonder Woman for an Oscar for Best Picture.
