I assumed that she was under House Arrest and Charlie was actually her therapist, but then that last image made me realize she's really just delusional and locked up somewhere. Possibly trauma from being raped by the Cooperganger. Yeah, same. But how do you think that fits it into any one specific "theory"? I think that the final scene eliminates any possibility of it being anything else BUT her being in an Institution, to be honest.

Right, but then does that lend any credibiltiy to any one particular theory about the ending? I guess it doesn't, really.

Not really, Audrey's whole return was a waste because it turned out to be unconnected to anything...even her one new relationship (her son, Richard) ended up being a waste because his dad gets him fragged before he meets anyone.

I found it strange that nobody, not even Ben, mentioned Audrey by name during the entire season. In fact, IIRC the only time anyone says her name outside of her scenes is Doc Hayward in that one Skype scene.

To build up her "big return"...which turned out to be her complaining to her husband about her cheating on some guy.

What do you make of the "little girl who lives down the lane" line, in terms of its broader significance (i.e., the arm quoting it near the end of season three)?

I think the Lodge scenes are out of order. That bit with the Fireman/Giant and Cooper in the first episode is really a conversation they're having in the last episode.
