Right out the gate I want the X-men movies to go strange. I want them to shed the idea that mutants should be grounded and it's rare for them to look abnormal. I don't want powers that make sense and be explained with science unless that power comes from science (Weapon X). I don't care which villains or story they use as long it's not Magneto and Mystique right away. If they really want to do Mystique again, do a version of Avengers Annual #10 as a Rogue movie. What you said has nothing to do with X-Men.(for the most part). X-Men was factually meant to be grounded as backed up by their creators Stan Lee and Chris Claremont. this is the proof here. Claremont, the godafther of X-Men said in his own words... ''X-Men is grounded in reality''.Please feel free to start bashing Claremont or twisting his words like you tried and failed to do with Tim Miller's hatred for MCU movies. Stan Lee went for the grounded route also because he was bored with the superheroes he created and wanted to do something new. This is fact, so don't even think of lying and making shit up.See why I said you are not a fan of X-Men? it is factually impossible for a fan of X-Men to keep getting their lore so wrong. You don't want xmen to be grounded, so their movies can stop embarrassing the MCU cgi driven brainless comedy movies that no sane film artist or long time comic book reader respects or takes seriously? I cannot wait when the first MCU X-Men movie is out and gets the backlash of the Last Jedi, Last I checked MCU fans are still defending last jedi even deluding themselves that star wars always had the MCU type comedy, very thin plotted and was all cgi, comments that just infuriated the already pissed off star wars fan base ie me. You want to know why X-Men for Marvel and Batman for DC had all the best written comic book stories? they were grounded, thematic and taken every seriously with a major awareness of their surroundings. they were nothing like GOTG or Avengers movies. That is disney. That is not X-Men and that is the reason the MCU X-Men will be awful and hated upon. the only people that will like MCU X-Men will be the the dumb masses, MCU fans and children. "Blah blah blah MCU hate"

He's a hack now, has been for 25 years, but his best work was the non-grounded stuff. When the MCU X-Men come out, audiences will watch it and think "Cripes, I really wasted years of life with Fox. THIS is X-Men!" Your era of restrained and crippled 'grounded' X-Men is dead and done, thankfully. We're going to be enjoying something genuine for the first time in 18 years.

This summers8 clown sure likes to talk about MCU despite hating it. One another forum he calls himself Dales, he posts the same stuff there but doesn't have me on block so I was able to counter everything he said. He ran off.

Why do you think that most of the stuff in X-men hasn't happened in the movies and they keep going over the same stuff again and again and again? Why haven't we seen the Savage Land yet? Why haven't we seen Asteroid M yet? Where is Genosha? Madripoor? These are fantasy locations in the Marvel Universe. Where is Lilandra and the Shi'ar? The Imperial Guard? Why was Christopher Summers in Apocalypse and not as Corsair? You keep going back to cgi driven brainless comedy like you have it written down or have to go bank into your hard dive like a robot. Everyone that has beef with the X-men movies can say specifically what is wrong with the movies and can find different things wrong with each movie, you keep going back to the same thing. You keep saying the same thing about them that every hack critic says about the MCU. Also, why is it people think that everyone was so in love with X-men before the MCU came about? Why do you people think that X-men started in 2010? The X-men movies started in 2000 and people ha problems with them even back then. Why do you think people were so happy when Rothman left? Could it have been the more adventurous First Class? Could it have been that people were on board for the MCU? And why did it fall back in Apocalypse? Why did Deadpool do so much better than all the other X-men movies? And in an unfavorable month? X-men andf Batman were popular because they were grounded? Their biggest stories weren't grounded at all. And do you know what hurt The Last Jedi? JJ Abrams's ending. He left it on a cliffhanger that they had to continue it from there. The Last Jedi felt like the 2nd half of one movie. I bet if they go back and edit both movies you can make it into one movie. Hell you can take out the attack on Starkiller base and save that for the next movie. Make Han and Finn going after Rey the point of going to Starkiller and make that the midpoint of the movie. There is so much you can take out of those movies to make them one movie. The flashbacks and Kylo's origin weren't needed. The Canto Bight portion could have been streamlined.

Oh and when I say I want them to go strange I want the X-men movies to be like a Star Wars movie. I want alien like mutants all over the place. Nightcrawlers and Marrows and such. I want the make-up artists to go home extra tired every day. I don't want to know how Cyclops's powers work. I don't want to know why Angel has wings or the scientific reason why Iceman can ice up. The origin for mutants is that they don't have origins for their powers besides being born that way. Keep it there. I don't want a bunch of discussions every 10 minutes on why people hate mutants in every movie. Show it. Move on. The only one we really need is why people hate mutants and not mutates for the people crying about it not making sense for the X-men being in the MCU when it totally does. And I find it funny that you guys watch a movie series about people that want to be included, but don't want them included.

There is so much you can take out of those movies to make them one movie. The flashbacks and Kylo's origin weren't needed. The Canto Bight portion could have been streamlined. Grounded in reality can also mean it is not stripped away from the fantasy element...ever heard of the term called magical realism, X-Men is fiction, with sci fi and fantasy element but still very much aware that it took place in a real world or shall I say fictional reality. More like Star Trek. I think that was why Claremont said , X-Men for the most part was grounded in reality. How does a fan of xmen not know these? You can have the brood, in an xmen movie and treat it like the Aliens setting world than treat it as ego the living the planet. You can have Lockhead and still give X-Men a game of thrones treatment , infact, now that you mention Lockhead, the bond Kitty has with that dragon is very similar to Daenerys Targaryen and her dragons from Game of Thrones and game of thrones (high fantasy) is nothing like MCU movies, Like X-Men, the characters, drama story telling approach and themes is what drives the series and stories, that is what why it is called grounded. the fantasy or sci fi was always secondary. MCU movies does it the other way around because their movies are thin plotted with zero plot so they bombard with cgi that rivals transformers. To be fair, most that has beef with X-Men movies are MCU fans who always hated how X-Men movies were praised as been more serious and thoughtful comic films outside of the Nolan movies.want more example? your bizarre desperation attempts to keep saying multiple man will be a comedy because all mcu movies are comedies even though X-Men movies have no history of using a comedy approach. The only people that have used the comedy approach in comic book films are MCU and Batman and Robin. Oh and did you also hear Black Widow will be a comedy too? when in the real world of the comics, it should be more like the classic TV show Alias that had guess what? low fantasy elements. From what I see here, there is more beef with MCU movies, you know how bad it is when even your own directors and actors tells us your movies are bad and quit. The comic genre is been hated upon because of MCU movies. Long time comic book fans and many film artists have beef with MCU movies. Those are people with credible opinions backed up by facts not the dumb masses and mcu fanboys like you that lie all the time as a defence mode. When you say people are in love with MCU , apart for children, who will grow up in the end, the dumb masses and their fan base, who else? I have never meet anyone that values good cinema or your standard run in the mill good quality movie that has said they like any MCU movie more than DOFP or Logan, simply because it has to do with substance and some level of intelligence. Um, did I hit a nerve with the best comic stories? From a person that claims xmen was their favourite series? that upset you? maybe it is because MCU is your favourite series and you have to settle for jokes and transformers type of comic book movies, LOL. You do realise you would have had legitimacy with your comments if that did not change with the Disney factor. We know in the last 7 years or so, after Disney bought marvel they started to put focus on the marvel IP they had the film rights too so X-Men, F4 and Spiderman got the boot. which was okay but guess what? None of it worked All the push they gave inhumans , thor, avengers and iron man and all the other MCU properties both in comics, animation and games failed even in movies too because when it came to movies, one xmen movies released in the same year as an mcu movie still always outclassed the mcu movies. Ie. 2011: First Class outclassing thor 1, and CA1 2016: Deadpool outclassing Civil War, dr strange 2014: DOFP outclassing GOTG 2, TWS 2017: Logan outclassing Thor 3, GOTG 3, Homecomng. Surely as an X-Men fan, this should make you proud right? Because you see whenever MCU was releasing one of their cgi superficial light hearted jokefest comedy movies , X-Men always released movies in the same year that were more serious , deeper, real and thoughtful and even more well received intellectually or at least a directorial artistic achievement with Deadpool. which is more bizarre because tim miller hatred of mcu is what made deadpool so good and guess what? he is not hiding it. It had nothing to do with push, it had everything to with art and content , MCU Disney has no artistic integrity, it does not matter how much they push any property now, it is bound to be devalued or seen as another soulless cooperate product and the reason xmen fans did not want xmen in the mcu. Want more proof? The recent marvel cartoon modelled after the MCU are getting cancelled because they are awful, even with the big push from a maga unlimited company like Disney something xmen and spidermen never had, those mcu cartoons are an embarrassment compared to X-Men TAS , X-Men Evolution and Spiderman TAS. DC animation has remain good since Batman 92 because DC did not loose the artistic aspect. they extended it to their non batman properties such as young justice and flash point and guess what? DC cartoons still rules because DC never lost the art, Marvel did once they became very much like disney than marvel. So their animations, comics and games, movies have sucked since then. Hm, big story before batman the dark knight returns. A death in the family, Batman Gaslight, the killing joke just to name a few, depth and content is key. Batman and X-Men have them. look at new mutants and Legion, the people behind this movie and tv show actually liked the series personally and read them first in comics and see them not as jokes and fun but real art to the point they take it personal. how many directors show that same passion or intellect to MCU movies or characters? Kevin Feige himself is a bigger fan of XMen than Avengers, same for Joss Whedon. what attracts these people to xmen is the art and high content. maybe this is why you dont see anyone credible like Nolan of Fincher bashing XMen movies unlike MCU movies, not to mention the longevity and high respect these type of comic films seems to be having compared the jokey vfx mcu movies that you think is popular but they fade out once they're out of cinema and the backlash they get? What hurt last jedi was Disney using the generic approach to movies they have used with MCU movies. Also , remember that these are movies. in sequels, movies can still feel self contained, well unless you are MCU that will rather spend time doing set ups and ties ins than telling a good self contained story....see one more reason why Sam Raimi's Spiderman outclassed Homecoming in the end. People hate last jedi because it felt like an MCU movie and for star wars it was unforgivable. the huge city like explosive destruction in the beginning of the movie, the joke introduction of your mum is calling, more constant jokes, the poor story structure, random scenes, It all screams MCU. for example everything David Fincher once said about MCU movies and their badness, last jedi ticked all the boxes. Um are you blaming JJ's TFA ending? your fantasy world is rich! in the feedback from TFA, in the real world I live in. the reception was that , the force awakens left the next film with a good set up for something better. Not the other way around as you are saying. Another bs lie, I think this is why the backlash is so surreal. I could go for thor 3, all of a sudden everyone with an IQ of more than a 100 now says thor 3 is a bad movie because people are now properly informed that raganrok is not a hahahaha cgi colroful comedy but something a lot deeper and serious, No high thinking person likes Thor 3 any more apart from MCU fans and children, which let's face it, the movie was made for as that famous wrestler said. The last jedi is a bad movie because it was a movie that used the mcu formula. The very same reason the MCU XMEN movies will be bad movies as well. A Matt Reeves X-Men movie under Fox will have turned out superior to anything MCU will ever do with X-Men. Thankfully, us true xmen fans who also likes his batman will settle for that. MCU Folks want xmen to be like star wars, is it the star wars disney has just destroyed and Mark Hamilli aka Luke Skywalker even disowned? the irony is rich. it will be like star wars with the hate and backlash. don't worry

maybe mcu fans should tell me how marvel will adapt e is for extinction when marvel will never even have made DOFP instead of calling me hateful for saying the facts.
Since black widow, thor 3, spiderman, ant man 2 are all confirmed brainless comedy? mcu xmen is next up right?

You want no scientific approach to xmen powers whilst setting them in a space environment. So basically you want a Xmen film exactly the same as Guardian's of the Galaxy films. Dont you see the problem there??

Grounded in reality can also mean it is not stripped away from the fantasy element... No, it just means keeping things as minimalistic as possible with regards to the fantasy and sci-fi elements because the people in charge are ashamed of that kind of stuff. Let me put it this way, leave it to the FoX-Men staff the Asgardians would just be a Cult of Delusional LARPers because the notion of Alien Gods isn't "grounded" enough for them. And the Hulk wouldn't be a big green guy either, he'd just be Bruce Banner with a violent split personality. And Cap would just be some delusional PTSD-addled soldier who lives in the Projects who fights a neo-Nazi skinhead who has red face-paint that lives in his building. As for the Last Jedi, fans are pissed because they wanted Luke to be some all-powerful hero who fixed everything and were upset that the new characters had any importance at all. Hamill himself was upset his character wasn't the one in charge of everything too. EDIT: The MCU saved the CBM genre after Nolan and Singer nearly destroyed it with their "grounded is the only way to go!" approach. Now it's more accepted than it ever was. It just doesn't appeal to people ashamed of comics.

GOTG was a good movie, so I don't see your problem. A good movie for kids. How an adult over 18 can think its "great" is beyond me. Haha I need to grow up? Im not the one who idolises childish films and calls anything else pretentious.

GOTG was a good movie, so I don't see your problem. A good movie for All ages, the same most movies are. They aren't pretentious and high on themselves, I suppose. Yes. CS Lewis put it best: “Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.” People who call the MCU "childish" or "kiddie" are merely people who need to get over themselves.

Not reading this book you wrote. For one, the grounded they are doing in the X-men movies is not the same grounded. When you say stuff like "You can't do that because it's silly" when talking about a character's powers, then you aren't thinking sci-fantasy. You are thinking "take all the magic out". X-men is more urban fantasy. It should be a world closer to something like Bright. I wish they could have made the X-men movies closer to Star Trek. But I'd rather have adventure movies like Star Wars and Indiana Jones. Blah blah blah You mean a sequel bait movie like Days of Future Past? The entire movie was a status quo movie to set up Apocalypse. Everybody was in the exact same spot they were in at the end of First Class. It was a space filler that didn't need to happen and they could have just went straight to Apocalypse. Now I know you are just full of MCU hate. Sam Raimi's Spider-man movies were the corniest movies around. Raimi's style does not fit Spider-man. If anything the MCU is a happy balance between the X-men movies and Raimi's Spider-man movies. I think that's what you guys don't like. The movies can have that message while giving people a good adventure movie. And you can sit there and cry about set-ups and tie-ins, but most people would call that foreshadowing. This is a true universe of stories. Things will happen after the movie ends and Marvel knows that. The comics know this. These are true comic book movies. Not movies based on comics. Comics actually have subplots that feature events that will happen in later stories. Hell, X-men comics still have subplots that hasn't been resolved from the 80s and 90s. If you are a true comic book fan then you would know this. And you would welcome it. You saying Star Wars has no jokes in them? None at all? In none of the movies? And where is David Fincher now? Working on that Girl with the Dragon Tattoo remake sequel? Wait, not happening cause no one liked it. World War Z 2? You really think that given the chance he wouldn't make a MCU movie? Something cerebral like Moon Knight? I bet most of these directors that says that they don't like the MCU hasn't gotten asked to the dance yet. Or maybe it's because they are too set in their ways that they won't play nice in sandbox. Help me, Lord. The Dark Knight Returns came out in 1986, Killing Joke in '88, Gaslight in '89, A Death in the Family was also '88. There are no big Batman stories before The Dark Knight Returns. All I'm reading from you is that you hate it when a movie makes you smile. Damn those movies for making you enjoy them. Damn their eyes to Hel. Dude everyone is a fan of X-men... The animated series from the 90s. And maybe the Jim Lee run in the 90s. X-men's big moment was the 90s. They had their fans in the comics, but it wasn't that big. Spider-man was way bigger. If X-men as so big before the 90s, how come they weren't featured heavily in the big crossovers they had? Notice how all the big crossovers in the 90s became X-men heavy? Marvel Crossovers Here take a look for yourself. Notice how it skews more and more toward X-men in the 90s? What I'm saying is this: X-men is popular in the comics. Not so much in the movies. For where The Last Jedi began? Yes. But I think JJ should at least be the Lucas of this trilogy. That's strike 2. He came in and dropped a bunch of mystery boxes in Johnson's lap then said figure out what's in them. He should have been there to see those through. Johnson just said screw it and threw all those boxes away. How did The Force Awakens leave the next movie with a good set up? Johnson had to figure out who Snoke was, who Rey's parents are, what happened to Luke and a host of other things. Johnson got the blame for Abrams's mess. The Force Awakens should have ended with Rey and Chewie leaving the Resistance base and jumping to hyperspace. Role credits. Ragnarok was something that happens in Thor 3. Not the main point of it. They weren't even trying to stop it at all in the movie. Hell, the heroes made it happen. blah blah blah MCU hate. That's what you sound like.

You will not get a good Disney star wars style Xmen film. It just wont happen. Youl get all the aesthetics and visual crap but no heart to any stories like the current Star wars shows, just plain fan service. You want no scientific approach to xmen powers whilst setting them in a space environment. So basically you want a Xmen film exactly the same as Guardian's of the Galaxy films. Dont you see the problem there?? We haven't gotten an X-men movie with heart since Pryde of the X-men. You people make my head hurt from your stupidity. Stop thinking with your hate. No scientific approach means no explaining things. I don't want to know what Cyclops's visor is made out of. I don't want to know what his optic blast is made out of or how it comes out of his eyes. He can't control his powers, he needs the visor, move along. If something happens that is outside of the "normal" then explain that. Forge is smart he can build a space worthy Blackbird. And show, not tell. And when it comes to their powers, I'd rather it was like Guardians of the Galaxy. Wait, when I said Star Wars, you must have thought I wanted them in space all the time. You must have read every other sentence. Look at this picture. You see how there are abnormal aliens and one human in there? That's what I mean by I want it to be like Star Wars. I want that to be a normal thing. I want people to watch these movies and know that anything can happen. I don't want people to see these movies and have a "that's silly" mindset. You know why we are getting aliens in the next X-men movie and it's perfectly alright? Take one guess. I'll give you a hint: MCU. You think if we didn't get Guardians of the Galaxy we would be getting an unspecified alien (that might not be an alien) in X-men? They couldn't even commit to Apocalypse having alien origins beyond some concept art that never made it into the film. The only things that an X-men movie needs is the characters. And that's what the MCU does better than any of the other comic book movies. They let the characters be and send them off on an adventure. They can go without mutant hate being in every movie because that's not the main thing in every story.

They think its hate. but its facts, said by MCU themselves. uk.ign.com/articles/2015/05/12/marvel-studios-feige-the-mcu-will-always-be-funny-not-darkMarvel Studios' Feige: The MCU Will Always be Funny Not 'Dark'That was Kevin Feige in 2015 but I never guessed they will even turn something like Ragnarök to haha brainless comedy. that is how low mcu has fallen. How did cartoons like spiderman and xmen tas have more maturity, depth and seriousness compared to mcu movies? long time marvel readers see it as a major flaw, mcu fans defend the bs because they never read the comics. No wonder no mcu fan can tell us how mcu will adapt any xmen story and do it justice. e is for extinction, inferno, the brood, the mutant massacre, ..these stories does not fit the mcu funny cgi forumla , that is fact. they call spiderman 1 and 2 corny when homecoming is more corny and cheesy than high school musical but at least high school musical was meant to be for children that watch disney XD and tv show. Spiderman is meant to be a coming of age character like harry potter, Dorothy from wizard of oz, frodo baggins. Raimi's Spiderman got it right, his legacy more secured after Homecoming failed to match up , thank god at least X-Force and Multiple Man may still be made before MCU jokefest X-Men begins. the more real xmen movies we get, the better. Meanwhile Clint Eastwood will be the next credible person to tell us how much MCU movies are hurting cinema.

RE- charzhino
Have you noticed it is only MCU fans that are defending the comedy cgi marvel approach and last jedi. its amazing to see mcu fans defending this stuff when luke skywalker disowned his own movie. reminds me of when alan taylor and whedon also disowned their avengers/ MCU movies and these MCU fans don't see the parallels? most sane directors and artists do disown their bad movies not of their own making. The last jedi was like gotg and avengers, it was like a marvel movie, even the opening dialogue has marvel cringe comedy and over the top explosions. for mcu, sure. for star wars? bad for xmen, worse.
Glad Star War fans made their voices heard on the bs, the same will happen with X-Men especially after recent last xmen movies like Logan, DOFP and likely New Mutants and Xforce. MCU Disney has no clue on what they are dealing with.
good thing with disney mcu star wars, the prequels are no longer bad star wars movies.

Us Star Wars fans made our voices heard back at episode 7, but were silent by the Disney shills. I don't care what Disney does with Marvel but keep that horrible comedy out of Star Wars. The Last Jedi humor was equally as bad as the bullshit with Jar Jar Binks into episode 1.

The only things that an X-men movie needs is the characters. And that's what the MCU does better than any of the other comic book movies. I dont want Xmen like 99% of other MCU movies where they barely have any meat to their dramatic story telling. Where there is hardly any hero-villain confrontation on a deeper literary level. I dont want Xmen to be constantly jokey and make their storylines lighthearted flicks. I dont want them to treat villains like trash. I dont want them to make every hero a arrogant, cocky jock type that quips. I dont want predictable CGI driven 3rd acts that have little feeling of stakes and not enough emotional conclusions of First Class, DOFP, X2, Logan and Civil War to an extent. Aliens and the more fantastical features is fine and Im disappointed Fox couldnt touch on them but Im not talking about superficial things like that. Im talking about the basic direction and blueprint that these movies are built on. Strip everything that is aesthetic about the 2 franchises down to its most rudimentary form, the printed script - and I feel that Fox want to sell their stories in a more artistic, rough and elegant manner wheras Disney wants to tell in a broader, refined and easily accessible manner. And that goes mainly for all the studios respective projects, expanded to things like Star Wars and Planet of Apes. If they could combine whats best about Foxs Xmen with the best things MCU brings then you will have a perfect comic book movie imo.
