Choreographer Alan Johnson has died aged 81. Johnson enjoyed a long and fruitful artistic collaboration with film and theatre director Mel Brooks.

Illustrator and animator George Jenson has died aged 87. Jenson was also a talented visual effects artist.
Laura Soreval has passed away at the age of 85. Soreval acted in plays, television productions and feature films in a career that stretched across six decades. She worked with some of Portugal's leading filmmakers including Henrique Campos, Manoel De Oliveira, Fernando Lopes and Antonio-Pedro Vasconcelos.
Documentarian Jenny Phillips has passed away aged 76. Phillips co-directed 'The Dhamma Brothers' (2008).

Roger Perry, star of 'Count Yorga, Vampire' (1970), 'The Return Of Count Yorga' (1971) and 'The Thing With Two Heads' (1972), has died at the age of 85. Perry was born May 7, 1933 in Davenport, Iowa, USA. He served as an intelligence officer in the United States Air Force. Prophetically, Perry was cast to play a time-travelling U.S. Air Force pilot on the television show 'Star Trek'. He joined forces with Linda Blair, Kimberly Beck and Beverly Garland for Mark Lester's roller disco favourite 'Roller Boogie' (1979).

R.I.P. Shinobu Hashimoto (1918–2018) 100 years what a wonderful life ! Gifted Japanese, screenwriter, director, producer. Hashimoto was a multi award winning writer who worked alongside the masters of Japanese cinema , Akira Kurosawa, Masaki Kobayashi, Mikio Naruse, Tadashi Imai, Satsuo Yamamoto, Hideo Gosha, Yoshitarô Nomura and Kihachi Okamoto. Hashimoto wrote nearly eighty screenplays, leaving us with an incredible cinematic legacy, outstanding, highly acclaimed works that will live on, films which stand among the very best of Japanese Classic Cinema.

Producer Murray Jordan has died aged 81. Jordan was a trained cutter who edited Jack Arnold's 'The Swiss Conspiracy' (1976) and John Derek's 'Fantasies' (1981).
Actor Robert Wolders has died aged 81. Wolders appeared in 'Beau Geste' (1966).
Producer Anthony Ray has died at the age of 80. Ray co-produced several of Paul Mazursky's films.
Action choreographer William Hobbs has died aged 79. Hobbs worked as a fight arranger on Ridley Scott's 'The Duellists' (1977), Richard Donner's 'Ladyhawke' (1985) and Ron Howard's 'Willow' (1988).
Broadway performer Gary Beach has died aged 70. Beach acted in Susan Stroman's musical reboot 'The Producers' (2005).
Filmmaker Jon Schnepp has died aged 51. Schnepp directed a segment of the horror anthology 'The ABCs Of Death' (2012).

Comic filmmaker Stan Dragoti has died at the the age of 85. Dragoti directed 'Love At First Bite' (1979), 'Mr. Mom' (1983), 'The Man With One Red Shoe' (1985), 'She's Out Of Control' (1989) and 'Necessary Roughness' (1991).
Fantasy artist Ron Satlof has died aged 79. Satlof directed the experimental short film 'Frog Story' (1972).
Costume designer Yvonne Blake has passed away aged 78. Blake designed costumes for Richard Lester's 'Musketeers' series and Richard Donner's 'Superman' franchise. She worked with filmmakers from around the world including Canadian Daniel Petrie, Italian George Cosmatos, Dutchman Paul Verhoeven, Englishman Roland Joffe, Spaniard Vicente Aranda, American Susan Seidelman, Czech Milos Forman and New Zealander Vincent Ward.
Art director Michael Howells has died at the age of 61. Howells's rich production designs drew from his early days designing catwalks and constructing high contrast colour backdrops for fashion shoots. He elicited praise for his design work on historical pieces and fantasy outlooks such as 'Princess Caraboo' (1994), 'FairyTale : A True Story' (1997), 'Ever After : A Cinderella Story' (1998) and 'Nanny McPhee' (2005).

Producer Harry Gulkin has died aged 90. Gulkin produced films in Quebec, Canada.
Screenwriter Yale Udoff has died at the age of 83. Udoff wrote the screenplay for Nicolas Roeg's 'Bad Timing' (1980) and co-wrote the screenplay for 'Eve Of Destruction' (1991) with director Duncan Gibbins.
Screenwriter David Stevens has died aged 77. Stevens co-wrote the screenplay for Bruce Beresford's 'Breaker Morant' (1980). He also directed 'Kansas' (1988), a small-scale romantic drama set within the farming communities of the American Midwest.

I wish he'd had a better career, a major starring role in a hit TV series, something more than what he got, which wasn't awful, but I think that Perry was capable of much more. He had "gentle hero" potential, but I guess that's not what the public wanted back then.

Filmmaker Moshe Mizrahi has died at the age of 101. Mizrahi directed the experimental drama 'Sophie's Ways' (1971); the film's electrifying soundtrack was recorded by the Art Ensemble Of Chicago with Fontella Bass. Mizrahi went on to direct 'The Customer Of The Off Season' (1970), 'I Love You Rosa' (1972), 'Daughters, Daughters' (1973), 'The House On Chelouche Street' (1973), 'Rachel's Man' (1975), 'Madame Rosa' (1977) and 'Every Time We Say Goodbye' (1986).
South African theatre actor Winston Ntshona has died aged 76. Ntshona acted in 'Gandhi' (1982), 'A Dry White Season' (1989) and 'Night Of The Cyclone' (1990).
Zombie boy Rick Genest has died aged 32. Genest was an alternative model and music video player who appeared in 'Carny' (2009).

Manic, scrunch-faced, screen funnyman Jimmy Il Fenomono has died aged 86. Il Fenomono worked with a who's who of Italian cinema, racking up a huge amount of credits from the 1960s to the 1980s. He often left audiences in tears of laughter.

Concise, clear-eyed cinematographer Richard H. Kline has died at the age of 91. Kline shot several pictures with filmmaker Richard Fleischer and a couple with Robert Wise. His mobile, observant camerawork was utilised by a wide range of directors including Joshua Logan, Daniel Mann, Norman Jewison, Carl Reiner, William Friedkin, Brian De Palma, Willard Huyck, Jim McBride, Dick Richards and Lawrence Kadsdan.

Comedian Etienne Chicot has died aged 69. Chicot worked with a who's who of French cinema including Claude Chabrol, Claude Lelouch, Alain Cavalier, Claude Sautet, Yves Robert, Alain Corneau, Just Jaeckin, Claude Miller, Andre Techine and Jacques Rouffio. He was also a capable musician and composer.
