Just this past January there was a John Mahoney Death Hoax on the internet. What is striking me as incredibly sad is that we so often now have to be skeptical when we read that someone famous has died.
Even sadder is that this news has been confirmed as true. We will always have Martin Crane and all of the other Mahoney Characters but no new ones to look forward to. JM and thanks !

I only think of him as a musician.

Crime cinema stalwart Pier Paolo Capponi has died aged 79. Capponi acted in politically charged dramas in the 1960s including the Taviani Brothers' social document 'The Subversives' (1967), Alberto De Martino's cat-and-mouse gangster flick 'Bandits In Rome' (1968) and Valerio Zurlini's seismic clarion call 'Black Venus' (1968). He also began an important working relationship with Fernando Di Leo when the director signed him up for 'Naked Massacre' (1968), a crime collaboration that would lead to roles in 'The Boss' (1973) and 'Blood And Diamonds' (1977). In the 1970s, Capponi turned out for old mentor Camillo Bazzoni. He also worked with the filmmakers Francesco Rosi, Brunello Rondi, Salvatore Samperi, Nelo Risi, Umberto Lenzi, Luciano Ercoli and Armando Crispino, becoming a leading player in civic drams and political thrillers as he reaffirmed his commitment to social issues. Capponi scored a notable box-office hit with his participation in the mystery 'Cat O' Nine Tails' (1971), the second film in Dario Argento's 'Animal Trilogy'. Having made his mark in film, Capponi drifted deeper and deeper into the world of television as the decade drew to a close and went on to become a familiar face on the small screen. Among his late career highlights was a reteaming with Paolo Taviani and Vittorio Taviani for the haunting 'Fiorile' (1993). He was a fine actor. Pier Paolo Capponi & Lucio Dalla
