Darlanne Fluegel has passed away at the age of 64. Fluegel was born on November 25, 1953 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, USA. She enjoyed a successful career in modelling which led to her breakthrough role in Irvin Kershner's spellbinding catwalk chiller 'The Eyes Of Laura Mars' (1978), a macabre mystery thriller scripted by John Carpenter and David Zelag Goodman. Fluegel joined Roger Corman's cut-price movie-making stable and took a featured role in 'Battle Beyond The Stars' (1980). She was a natural before the camera and became a dedicated performer in the 1980s, compelling audiences with her work in a series of tricky crime dramas - Sergio Leone's 'Once Upon A Time In America' (1984), William Friedkin's 'To Live And Die In L.A.' (1985), Peter Hyams' 'Running Scared' (1986), Jeff Kanew's 'Tough Guys' (1986), Steve Carver's 'Bulletproof' (1988), Francis Delia's 'Freeway' (1988) and John Flynn's 'Lock Up' (1989). Severeal choice parts followed in the 1990s but Fluegel stepped away from the limelight in 1996. She will be greatly missed by crime film fans. Fluegel is remembered at The Wrap : Darlanne Fluegel (1953 - 2017)Thanks for the movies.

Darlanne Fluegel Rest in Peace
I actually wasn't aware that Darlanne Fluegel passed away. I watched To Live And Die In L.A. a couple of days ago, so today I was reading up on some of the actors in it and noticed that Darlanne died on Dec. 15th of Alzheimer's disease. That is so sad! She was a wonderful actress and I've seen many of those movies you listed. After she retired from acting in the mid-90s she became an acting teacher. R.I.P.

British actress Emma Chambers has died aged 53, her agent has confirmed. Known for playing Alice Tinker in the BBC's The Vicar of Dibley, the Doncaster-born star also had roles in Notting Hill and the TV adaptation of Martin Chuzzlewit. Chambers, who died from natural causes on Wednesday evening, would be "greatly missed", her agent John Grant said. He said: "Emma created a wealth of characters and an immense body of work. She brought laughter and joy to many". Chambers is survived by her husband, fellow actor Ian Dunn. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-43183354

Never much of a M*A*S*H viewer, I remember him best for his numerous appearances as Michael Reston, the hapless D.A. who - as inevitably as Hamilton Burger - lost courtroom battles to Perry Mason. Reston's supercilious reserve made for a less-contentious but more nuanced and intellectually challenging dynamic with his courtroom nemesis than did the often churlish, combative and excitable nature of his predecessor, and was something from which viewers could discern a more robust quality of mutual respect, even contributing to the sense that, on this case or that, Mason might finally have met his match. Except, of course, that Mason always cleared his client, and exposed the real killer to boot. Them's the rules. Just the same, David Ogden Stiers's presence, encompassing gallantry and graciousness in those inevitable moments of defeat, lent a fresh and enjoyable dimension to what remained a rigid but reliably entertaining format.
