Face/Off - 4/10. Most of it is straight up awful, but a couple of cool action scenes raise it from a 2/10 to a 4/10.

Iceman (1984) - 6/10. Mildly disappointing and a bit abrupt in places (as if a lot of footage didn't make the final cut). Timothy Hutton, Lindsay Crouse and John Lone as the iceman are all good.

I was so close to turning it off after Nick Cage says, "If I were to let you suck my tongue, would you be grateful?" lol; what the fuck?

Ready Player One. Yikes, that was disappointing even if I wasn’t expecting a whole lot in the first place.
4/10

Paddington 2. A very high 8/10 or even a 9/10. I’ll have to sleep on it.
It took all the great elements of Wes Anderson, excluded the bad ones, and created a film with such imagination and genuine heart that I was truly sad when it ended. The best children’s film in years and one of the best films I’ve seen ever. An absolute delight from start to finish.

Ant-Man B+ Fun romp carried by a very capable trio of Rudd-Douglas-Lilly. It along with GotG & Ragnarok add for a well balanced personal MCU favs mix. Most surprisingly, it actually gets better each viewing.

Thor Ragnarok A-
Tremendously fun & entertaining. Glad this mini crew had a romp when they weren't in CA Civil War.

Just watched The Thing (1982) for the first time. A horror masterpiece, this movie was so amazing. Everytime you think the movie has reached its most intense point and everytime it just keeps on going further, 10/10.

I’ve been waiting a while for you to watch this, I had a feeling it’d be right up your alley. The blood test scene is the most suspenseful and well directed scene of all time. I always imagine John Carpenter as a magician because the way he directs this movie is just so damn incredible. It’s definately on my top 5 favorite movies.

Irreversible 3/10.
I told myself I wasn’t ever going to watch this movie because, well, I just didn’t have an interest and I heard about the content. But it was on amazon prime and my curiosity got the better of me. And you know what? It literally made me physically ill. I actually didn’t finish it. Hell, I didn’t even get to the infamous rape scene that most people stop the movie at. I only made it 25 minutes or so in and stopped when a guy had his head graphically smashed to bits in a gay S&M club as some gay guy masturbated to the act. Won’t check out any of Gaspar Noe’s work, I don’t really care what artistic merit they have. 3/10 for this one because the camera work was nauseating, the flashing lights, camera spinning out of control was and the music really adds to everything. I understand it’s the filmmakers goal to make you nauseous and 10/10, Noé succeeded. This one just is not for me at all.

The Blair Witch Project B+ For all its flaws, it's one of the finest psychological horror rides ever. Let go of the found footage angle, & just go with it in a hypothetical what would you do if scenario.

I feel like this should be a thing here... sans polls, just post rating/review/etc of your most recent viewing(s). New year, new thread, new bananas... Bottle Rocket A-
I casually binge Wes Anderson's catalogue as a New Year's thing... Owen Wilson is f'n genius in this movie. I think more ppl who don't normally check Wes out should try this one, it's such a relaxing & hilarious gem.
Stand By Me A+
Not completely sticking to Wes, I put off another SBM viewing for a while now... I still think the deer scene is surely my fav cinematic moment ever. Black Panther A-I enjoyed it more than I thought I would, but I found some things in it just too unbelievable and jarring.

After much thought, Last Ciry of Z is probably more of a 7/10 I was looking forward to it, but honestly I felt let down somewhat. I think your 7/10 is fair.
