game Night (2018). 5/10. it was okay, a lot of running about and screaming, ocasionally funny in a frantic sort of way.

Toy Story (1995) - 10/10
So good. Holds up better than it did on my last viewing only a year or so ago.
Toy Story 2 (1999) - 9.5/10
Once again, better than I remember it from my last viewing. The action and adventure scenes in this movie are awesome and the animation is fantastic. It's held from a 10 because of that horrible song and dance finish with Wheezy.

Pocahontas, 6/10. The story is pretty basic and the romance develops way too quickly to be fully believable, but I'd lie if I said it wasn't engaging. The movie looks beautiful as well. Nowhere near Disney's best movies, but I still liked it.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom - 5/10
Disappointed. The first half of this movie is as close to a 0/10 as any movie I've seen in a while. The second half has some good thrills, though, and there is some good fun to be had in that last hour.
But, my God, that first half; it was absolute dogshit.

Across the Universe, 8/10. A beautiful and heartfelt story that touches upon love, finding your identity and the big events from the 60s like the Vietnam War, all bundled together with Beatles songs and references every single second. It's a bit uneven in quality, but when it works it really works. And considering the amount of time spent singing, it's very good how they were still able to put so much story in there. I really cared about the characters. It's also a really weird movie: Bono singing 'I Am the Walrus' with a cowboy hat on and on an LSD-trip isn't even one of the weirdest scenes in the movie.
I found out about this movie through one of Roger Ebert's reviews. There are actually a lot of movies that have received mixed reception, but that have gotten a lot of praise from Ebert. Across the Universe has a 53% on Rotten Tomatoes, but Roger Ebert gave it 4/4 stars so I decided to give it a chance. Now that I look at his reviews Ebert actually disagreed with the critics consensus very often. I might look at his reviews more in the future to find other hidden gems. I love how he didn't care about what other critics said and always spoke his own opinion. What I notice is that Ebert focuses less on the technical aspects of a movie, the plot, acting etc. and focuses more on the experience.

Battleship, 2/10. I didn't want to dismiss it right away, but this movie really has nothing going for it. Bad acting, no story at all, bad writing, the most generic villains ever and horrible editing, lighting & camerawork (which idiot films action scenes with the camera 10 cm away from the character's faces!). It doesn't even work as a fun turn-your-brain-off blockbuster. It was a chore to finish the movie. I was so angry by the idiodic decisions the characters made all the time. There are a few moments where it is slightly bearable so it isn't the worst ever, but is comes dangerously close.

In Bruges (2008) - 8/10
This is one of those movies that builds on itself in a good way. It starts out kind of generically with some not-so-likable characters, but then it finds its groove and becomes a very good movie.

The Incredible Hulk, 5/10. I finally saw this movie, now I only need to watch Ragnarok to finish my MCU watchlist. It was basically what I expected it to be, a servicable, forgettable superhero movie. There are good and enjoyable moments in it, but as a whole it is bland and feels very similar in style, tone and story to other 2000 - 2009 superhero movies. I liked Edward Norton as The Hulk and I liked William Hurt's character. Liv Tyler was also okay, but I really wasn't a fan of Tim Roth as Emil/Abomiantion and some of the writing decisions. Luckily their villains are better now, but movies like this really show why people used to consider the villains the weakest aspect of the MCU. He was so bland that it was even annoying at times. I also didn't like the biologist Samuel. The best parts of the movie were The Hulk on his own and with Liv Tyler's character. All in all not that bad, but also not something I'd rewatch either. It would rank near the bottom of the MCU with Iron Man 3, Ant-Man, Thor 2 & Iron Man 2 (the 4 other MCU movies that I don't like).
