BP and Infinity War are coming out and WW's goodwill has been kicked out from under her due to JL's failure. Those 3 films' places aren't going to last. BP will have artificial boosts simply for being a black led superhero. Infinity War will be overcrowded and CGI heavy with no emotional story to it and these type of films dont make it into "all time great classic" lists. You're just salty that no MCU movie can break the top 1/2/3 spots in any established list of greatest superhero films ever made. formersamhmd just got owned! |

The Weinstein scandal meant that critics were afraid that if they did do so, it would label them misogynists. WW's place is due to the booster it got from the current environment being rocked from Weinstein's fall and all the other male scandals. Wonder Woman was #1 on the Best Superhero Movies of All Time list long before the Weinstein scandal broke so there was no artificial boosters. Speaking of artificial boosters, Black Panther looks like it's getting plenty of artificial boosters. Nah, WW had artificial boosters from the start due to the Ghostbusters thing from last year making critics be afraid of being labeled misogynists. Then the Weinstein scandal hit to make it further considered poor taste to critique the film. Double booster. BP, however, needs no such thing. After all, it's hardly the first CBM about Black Superheroes. |

As for IW, that trailer was stupid. Peter Parker's hair goes up on his arm so he senses that there's danger. Why the fuck did he need Spider-Sense to sense that there was danger? There was a giant ring in the sky and everyone else in the school bus could see it without needing any Spider-Sense. That was just really stupid that Peter needed Spider-Sense to notice what everyone else in the school bus could already see.

But Wonder Woman did rely on being a female character. Everything about the marketing was about her being a woman. Has there been anything that said something about him being black besides showing his face? So it's not hypocritical. You mean the ring that nobody saw until after he sensed something wrong and had to turn around to look back? And (from the cut of the trailer) nobody looked until after he looked. What trailer did you watch? Did you just skip back and forth through it randomly? Also the hair going up is what is called a visual cue.  The ring is behind the bus and nobody else is looking. |

That list says Ragnarok is better than Dark Knight, you stand by that? In fact...that link doesn't even work anymore. Previously, they had 5 pages (50 to 41 on Page 1, 40 to 31 on Page 2, 30 to 21 on Page 3, 20 to 11 on Page 4, and 10 to 1 on Page 5). Now they have just 3 pages (50 to 31 on Page 1, 30 to 11 on Page 2, and 10 to 1 on Page 3) so Pages 4 and 5 don't exist anymore. I've fixed the link to point to Page 3 instead of Page 5 so the link works now: Best Superhero Movies of All Time. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. And also, the list has The Dark Knight at #3, Logan at #2, and Wonder Woman still holding strong at #1. So this is the definitive list? Giving Wonder Woman #1, ok. It was really good. But then that also means that definitively, and is a fact, that "Sky High" is a better film than every other DCEU movie. And also, over 1/3 of the greatest comic book movies ever are MCU films, right? All 17 are among the 50 greatest. That's 34%. Meanwhile, WW is the only DCEU film on the list. So it's more of a fluke. 1 really good movie, and the rest suck. |

WW kept exploiting the whole "It's about a woman!" thing over and over again, while BP has done no such thing and has enough faith in the character to not stoop to that level. For getting more views in 1 day than JL did in 8 months? That's how it is in the comics, even when the danger is something subtle or something obvious it still goes off. No one else knew to look until Peter did, and no one would know it was dangerous just from looking. Seriously, I know you're old and all that but stop asking to be spoonfed. |

An intelligent Black superhero who has to deal with issues of how to reconcile being a good King with being a good person. Plus, having a black lead didn't save Steel. Steel wasnt a major comic book movie release like this is going to be. Even if its a passable 5.5/10, the critics will boost it to 90% because of the significance of the film politically rather than on merit. Only The Avengers is usually mentioned amongst best CBMs of all time that has multiple characters and heavy CGI and that was because it was the first of its kind. Civil War didnt have much of that, and even though I think the plot itself is dumb, it had some emotion between Stark, Cap and Bucky. Infinity War will just be an entertaining 2.5 hours of CGI bonanza with explosions. There will be no room for any intimate story like there is in Logan, Dark Knight and WW. If you want to make a CBM thats considered a classic then the evidence points in favour of making it grounded. Rubbish. Those 3 films had great depth and subverted the genre and pushed the scope of what you can do. They parralelled real life tropes through the lens of comic characters and didnt hold back trying. All 3 films also had stakes where people died to aid the impact of the story; Rachel Dawes, Prof X/Logan and Steve Trevor. Thats one reason why MCU wont get close to the artistic reaches of other studios because they want cookie cutter safe films. |

There will be boosters because no one will down vote the first ever modern Black superhero led film. Its already getting a 90%+ regardless of how good it is, everyone knows it. MCU has the advantage of making solo films for their supporting characters so its unfair to judge them against Spidey 3 and JL. Im arguing it from a much simpler writing stance. The more characters you have on screen, the less time is dedicated to developing arcs for more interesting characters. And looking at the character's to appear in IW, its a long list. On top of that, The Russos have said a lot of focus will be on Thanos and the story is told through his perspective. So well see how they juggle it all, but I dont see how it wont end up being overcrowded with action set piece one after the other, quick cuts and rushed story telling to cram the whole saga in. |

And despite all the negativity in the build-up to the film it still did spectacular. Says you. Those films all needed boosters from external sources to be recognized. Nope, Guardians is a modern classic without being grounded. Same for the first Iron Man, Winter Soldier, etc. WW's story was generic, Logan was just the same old "Humans doing something bad to mutants" story except they killed everyone in the end and TDK needed an omnipotent and omniscient villain to work (lazy writing). Trevor will be back, Dawes was a useless plot device death and Xavier/Logan dying meant nothing because it was some AU future. Kill off Logan/Xavier in the current movies and move on with new characters from there and NOW you're talking. |
