It just would stop being X Men for me regardless of it's comic book origins.

No. I'm perfectly happy with the being separate and while merging them would be a logistical nightmare it's certainly not a deal breaker.

This idea that the X-Men have to exist on their own without any other superbeings never made much sense to me.
Prejudice isn't some zero-sum game, in reality there have always been some minorities who had it worse than others. And it isn't like the MCU has a lot of genuine superbeings in the first place. Most of the Avengers are just normal Humans.

It seems that Kevin Fiege thinks too soon for that away.

Calm down Francis, you're going to give yourself skin failure.
The point is that the way Singer has done things is too limited and we're missing out on the cool X-Men stuff, stuff the MCU wouldn't be afraid to give us.

Leave it to Singer, the Shi'Ar would just be some random cult on Earth instead of a space Empire.

no, but I feel they would lose creative freedom, like we wouldn't get a Logan or a Deadpool if everything was with Marvel proper. guess we'll find out how it'll work out with Spider-Man with Sony simultaneously producing non-mcu Spider-Man films.

Exactly. The spectrum of possibility for the upcoming X-movies would narrow immediately to the smaller range in tone allowed by Disney.

100% I would stop watching. The only advantage under Disney would be comic accurate costumes but apart from that each film would descend into the typical MCU structured layout. The films would get consistently high RT scores and good box office numbers but they would ultimately be very forgettable and have a pungent manufactured flavour to them.

As opposed to the typical FOX layout? The MCU has a ton more variety than the sell-out approach they've been using.
It's why they're going for R Rated stuff now, because even they realize they can't continue.
