My issue with this fabulous ending is how much will change in the next movie. If they change too much they will have not only hurt Avengers 4, but Infinity War as well.

I think Black Panther and Spider-Man are obviously going to stay dead. They already annoucend Sequels for both characters. So they will revived in Avengers 4. Like everyone who Thanos had killed. Incorrect. Only Spider Man has a confirmed sequel coming, and that releases next year. Black Panther 2 has never been confirmed. Having said that it appears a sequel is a must given how much money it made.

Bingo. One or two of the usual suspects who grew tired of their roles would have been believable. But hoards of freshly developed guys with projects on the horizon is an obvious faux-death MCU sham again - which is already announced to be retconned by virtue of magic stone (Marvel fans can debate if its Soul, Time or Dance off Stone). This was not an ending but a second act cliffhanger. lol at "Dance Off Stone" thank you that made me laugh pretty hard. And I did roll my eyes when they made it seem like Spiderboy & BP bite the dust. We all know that isn't the case.

Note how conveniently only the core Avengers: Cap, IM, Thor, Black Widow and Hulk survived for Avengers 4 (Hawkeye must have dissolved between movies).

IT-IS-FICTION NO-REAL-PEOPLE-DIE How does it matter if a fictional character dies or not? If Old Yeller could return, it would be less of a film. As well if Mac from Cuckoo’s Nest could. Tragedy is a fundamental of drama. It is one of its most endearing components. It’s a legimate critique of the MCU. Old Yeller is not science Fiction. Old Yeller is not mythology Old Yeller could be expected to return if it were Pet Semetary, Re-Animator or something similar. Same for Mac from Cuckoo's Nest. Comics are mythology. Odin hanging himself on a tree to gain knowledge & then returning to lige. Keeping his advisor Mimir's head alive to give Odin advice. Because, last I saw, there were no Sorcerer Supremes or gods of Thunder in Old Yeller or Cuckoo's Nest

I'm thinking some Dragonball catch. Some will stay dead. But I think Gamora will be back. I think she will too... But it's possible she was the "gut punch" that will last. All of the "Ash" people will be back, but she might stay dead. Though I suppose Guardians could be "The Search for Gamora" They said GotG3 is the last with the original team so I suspect she will be back unless they set it before finding Thor.

But I got a feeling that Vol 3 will feature a certain green babe, a pop song-obsessed dude, a teenage tree, a chick with antennae and a beefcake with famously huge turds. Plus the raccoon as the only crew survivor. The same likely for Spderman7 and BP2 and WinterSoldier.

Already hearing some fans say they shouldnt have gone with this bleak ending because its too upsetting for kids and it affect the box office as they wont be interested in repeat viewings because most their heros die.
Gimmie a break.

If any thing the deaths in Infinity War should teach kids that not only can heroes lose and die, but that evil can, and usually does in the real world, triumphs.

It's Dragonball -summon Shenlong to grant a wish. And what does that mean? You don't know Drahonball Z? Ok. There are 7 dragonballs that have 1-7 stars on them. Collect all 7, summon the dragon & make a wish after which the balls turn to stone & dispurse around the planet. In a year they turn back into Dragonballs. The original dragon granted 1 wish & it was specific, like bring back everyone Frieza killed, but Krillin had been killed by Vegeta so he didn't come back. Or was it Yamcha who didnt come back...

Oh...my "gripes" would be 2 things: 1-Starlord is an idiot. What the hell man? He deserves to stay dead for that monumental bit of self centered douchebaggery. 2-Didn't like how Spider-Man died. I know he's a kid and all, but maybe less terror? 1- Star Lord has shown to let emotion dictate him before (GotG2) 2- He's never died before. 1 is the main one. I was only mildly put out by terror Parker. A lot of characters do dumb things because they are emotional. I'm usually not asked to root for them. And certainly not a character who is now responsible for half the life in the universe dying because he couldn't control himself for a few seconds over a dead girlfriend. I don't see any reasonable excuse for that. It's pretty much the worst thing I've ever seen a hero character do.

**SPOILERS** There's no way Doctor Strange gave the time stone just to spare Iron Man's life. He said it himself, the stone is more important than everything and he'd sacrifice anyone to protect it. I think he gave the stone, because it's the only way that they win in the end out of the 4 million futures he visited. He even said 'it's the only way' to Tony after he gave the stone. I think some of the characters will be brought back (Spidey & Black Panther f.e.), but I also think some will stay dead and I think some of the people who survived will die in Avengers 4 (f.e. Cap & Iron Man). Agreed. There is no way he did that to save Stark. He must have seen the 1 success involved him giving Thanos the Time Stone.

Gimmie a break. I saw it happen 3 times personally at my theater. Three different kids were visibly upset/angry about the ending. I think it's highly likely this has a negative effect on the box office. There is no way those 3 kids will want to see it again.

I can't believe I'm reading stuff like this. Where did this come from? The idea that we need heroes to die in movies now? That stupid word..."stakes". When has that EVER been true? It's a made up "requirement". Is it from Game of Thrones and Walking Dead? Is that where this dumb idea comes from? Well obviously killing characters isn't helping Walking Dead to be a good show. As always, the good show has good writing and the bad show has bad writing. Both kill major characters all the time so that has nothing to do with it. It's about the writing like it has always been through centuries of story telling. The kids seem normal. They are expecting what people have expected from stories for centuries....the good guys win in the end. Those suddenly changing this to a new standard where killing characters makes the story good are the odd ones. Who doesn't know that evil wins in real life? Why would anyone need anyone to tell them that in stories? Stories are and have ALWAYS been about escape from real life. We get real life every day when we get out of bed. A story thrills us because it sends us to places we don't get in real life very often.

As for the kids, I see nothing wrong with giving them dark material. Parents should have more concerns about their children. Like how our government seems okay with them being shot up in schools.

I don't see any reasonable excuse for that. It's pretty much the worst thing I've ever seen a hero character do. Star Lord really isn't a hero. He's a protagonist, gun for hire. The main reason he went after Thanos on Titan was Gamora. And he just found out in that second that Gamora, who finally said she loved him just before, was dead. It's not like she dies months ago and he knew. He thought that she could still be alive. You also have it that realizes that he screwed up in Thanos getting the soul stone when he hesitated in killing Gamora. All these factors add up in that small moment. And if they use time travel to restore the timeline, like it looks like in the BTS pics of Avengers 4, it doesn't matter because he didn't make that impulsive decision. Maybe only Tony and Nebula will know. And I don't think Tony will fault him because he did the same thing a few movie appearances ago.
