The Green Mile(1999)was originally supposed to be set in 1932. The date was changed to 1935,so that Top Hat could be featured in the film.

Tom Powers: [Tom shuffles to the breakfast table in his pajamas. He's just finished a demanding call with Nails Nathan] Ain't you got a drink in the house? Kitty: Well, not before breakfast, dear. Tom Powers: [immediately annoyed] ... I didn't ask you for any lip. I asked you if you had a drink. Kitty: [sheepishly] I know Tom, but I, I wish that... Tom Powers: ...there you go with that wishin' stuff again. I wish you was a wishing well. So that I could tie a bucket to ya and sink ya. Kitty: Well, maybe you've found someone you like better. [Tom is enraged and disgusted by her implication. He grimaces and shoves a grapefruit in her face as he leaves the table] The Public Enemy"Several versions exist of the origin of the notorious grapefruit scene, but the most plausible is the one on which both James Cagney and Mae Clarke agree: The scene, they explained, was actually staged as a practical joke at the expense of the film crew, just to see their stunned reactions. There was never any intention of ever using the shot in the completed film. Director William A. Wellman, however, eventually decided to keep the shot, and use it in the film's final release print."
Didn't the original draft of this scene call for an omelette to be used?

Not sure if animal actors count. Their was one animal actor on The Birds, who hated Rod Taylor. The bird would always peck Rod every day for no reason. Rod talks about it in an interview. Tippi Hedren remembers that as well.

I find the film to be great escapism. John Lithgow is excellent as Eric Qualen. (His Mid Atlantic accent makes some of his lines unintentionally funny.) The opening scene is suspenful, even though there is a famous gaffe in this scene with Frank looking as if he's cracking up! Good old Frank. I remember many a thread about him back on IMDb. He has that smile on his face when Gabe is trying to save Sarah, but it's when she falls, is when Frank loses his shit. Surprised Renny Harlin didn't pull the actor up on it.

Kes isn't on the poll? That's a great film. I voted for OHMSS. My favourite Bond film. It's set during christmas, which makes it unique, as it's the first film in the series to be set during the festive period.

I don't watch the recent seasons, as i feel that they are relying too much on celebrity guests. The older seasons had guests, but the episodes were mainly plot driven. Think Bart having to give SLH away, or Homer being reunited with his mother and having her leave his life again. Heart wrenching stuff.
The newer seasons lack that for me.
