If a school has too low an enrollment for several years in a row, then the school would shut down. That's what happened to the elementary school I attended. The school was founded in 1921 and due to low enrollment for several years, the school shut down in 2016. This is a superhero movie.

2014 Thanos didn't even know where all of the stones were, so he couldn't go back in time to get them. Valid point. But Thanos would have all the information at hand to know where the stones are: Power gem - 2014 Thanos captures 2019 Nebula whilst she and Warmachin were planning to intercept the power gem from Quill. Knowing where the powergem has been all this time, Thanos can just has to go back in time a couple of days before Quill steals it to capture the orb. Mind gem - He gave this to Loki in his sceptre back in 2012 Avengers. Can easily go back then and keep the mind gem himself. Space gem/Tesseract - again, he knows its on earth in 2012 so can go back to 2012 to retrieve it, with the power and mind gem at hand, he can easily defeat any resistance Soul gem - 2014 Thanos didnt know the soul stone was on Vormir. But now that he and Ebony Maw have access to 2019 Nebulas memory files, he can simply scan them and look for the moment 2019 Nebula explained its location to Hawkeye/Widow. Boom, theres another gem he can go into the past to retrieve. Time gem - Thanos and Maw simply have to look at her memory files until the location of the stone is revealed. Given that the time stone has been with the Sorcerer Supreme for a very long time on earth, Thanos can assume itll still be there in the past even though the memory file hes watching is from the future relative to him (2019) Power gem/Aether - Once again, Thanos finds the memory where Avengers planning to get the gems in Endgame. Thor reveals that he had to take Jane to Asgard with the aether inside. Thanos then has to basically copy Rockets plan, which he could do with 100x the ease There we go, all 6 gems collected. A master strategist with patience (as Thanos has been depicted to be very patient in collecting gems over the MCU lifespan) pulls this off. No need for the contrived ending in Endgame where he ridiculously decides to travel into 2019 with his army to go up against the Avengers who already have the infinity gauntlet ready to use. Its a straight up suicide mission, no way Thanos with his intellect thinks this is a good idea. The better plan would be to go into the past from his position in 2014; collect the gems with relative ease as Ive outlined and go back to 2014 with a fresh gauntlet and snap the whole universe out of existence. Then if hes in the mood, go forward to 2019 and do the same thing again. Sorry, but Russos poor writing and handling of time travel has been exposed beyond redemption. Thanos didn't have a time machine. His one and only time jump was because he was able to briefly hijack the Avengers time machine. Sorry, the Russos have crafted the greatest superhero movie of all time. A boxoffice jugernaut and quite possibly a 2nd best picture nom in as many years for the MCU. You're just going to have to figure out how to live with that. Do try to keep the tears to a minimum, mkay?

Um yeah, he needs Pym particles to do that. Not sure why you keep bringing up other films when they explain in this film that other movies got time travel wrong. 1 Nebula as in the same person in two different time periods. (As opposed to a clone, a twin, etc.) This stuff is incredibly straightforward. Blame your school system and your mother for your failures at comprehension, don't blame the MCU. No, Endgame gets tine travel wrong, After an absence he comes back with one of his best lines ever You know who sets the laws of time-travel? The people that are writing that work of fiction that is dealing with it. And apparently the writers went with the theory that a number of theoretical physics they discussed it with believed to be true By all means please link us to where an agreed basic law of time travel is stated,

Does anyone else find it hysterical they the guy who is bitching about the time travel making no sense has put the 1978 Superman movie on a pedestal where the time travel was Superman reversing the rotation of the Earth to save Lois Lane?
Any time travel points in every movie ever make no sense when thought out logically, but they at least are explained to the writers interpretation of how time travel works if it were a thing

Thanos didn't have a time machine. His one and only time jump was because he was able to briefly hijack the Avengers time machine. You're wrong. He has a time machine because he must have replicated the pym particles to transport that many people. Its shown earlier in the movie during NYC 2012. Steve and Tony decide to go to 1970s and tell Antman and Hulk to go back to 2019. How can they do this without 1 pym particle bottle each?

I hope you didn't invest too much time in this argument.

Guys, should we ask him about plot-holes in Shazam! or Aquaman? He's still struggling to find one for this movie

On the Ant-Man thing...didn't his suit malfunction when he got out of the Quantum Realm? Hence why he could not shrink out of the cage Yes. They actually show that as soon as he escapes the Quantum realm. Which is why we see him out of his suit when the security guard let's him out.

Are you that dim? Thanos needed to have pym particles for each of his army members. This is shown earlier in the movie when Antman, stark, cap and hulk each have their own pym particles to travel back and forth when they are in 2012 NYC. Now answer the question....how can stark and antman go back to 2019 with the orb and how can Cap and stark go back to 1970s if they didnt have indivudual pym particles???
If your saying I dont understand the exponential effect on large masses, why does Antman not use 1 bottle to transport himself, stark, cap and hulk all togther into 2012 like you are suggesting Thanos does at the end? Therefore he could have saved 3 bottles for emergencies, but this contradicts what he said earlier when he stated there is only enough pym particles for 1 round trip.

What's the matter? You don't want to address the giant flaw in your argument? If Thanos had his own time machine, he wouldn't have needed to use the Avengers time machine. ... and, presumably, more than one avenger could have been transported together ... if they had jammed everyone into one suit. Yawn ... this is too easy.

Did the dipshit OP not even watch the movie? ... plus the fact that he keeps refering to time travel rules from other movies when Endgame went to great lengths to point out that those rules do not apply. A. Didn't see the movies. B. Dumb as a bag of rocks. C. All of the above.

Lets try one last time Il break it down as simply as possible Movie: Thanos used nebulas pym particle bottle to travel with his army into 2019. Simple Response: why couldnt Antman use 1 pym particle bottle to take a mere 3 people with him to New york 2012? If the answer to that is; Antman could have used 1 pym particle bottle to take all 4 of them to NYC 2012...then how do Stark/Cap go in 1 time direction to 1970 and Banner/Lang in another to 2019? If answer that is; Antman couldnt use 1 pym particle bottle to transport all 4 of them....then how the fuck has Thanos used it to transport his 1000s strong army?

OK.
1 Pym particle bottle transports 1 object. The Avengers transported each of their members individually using their quantum suits. There are several possible reasons why they chose to transport individually; 1. the suits were easier to make than several ships to transport each team. 2. If something went wrong during the transport you have a better chance of at least 1 team member making it through if they were traveling as individuals.
It was made abundantly clear that there was only enough for 1 round trip for each individual team member. Tony and Cap used their return trip particles to go to 1970 where they acquired more Pym particles.
Thanos used Nebula's return trip particles to transport 1 object, that being his ship which housed himself and his army. He did not have enough Pym particles to transport to multiple locations to gather the stones so he went to the one place where all the stones were together and he knew where they were.

I feel like this is my fault. I started messing with charzhino's hypothetical bullshit yesterday and sent him down this rabbit hole of Thanos replicating time travel and going back in time. I had no idea it would lead to two different fan fiction threads where everyone has 20/20 hindsight and the villain could've won had they only done X.

(As opposed to a clone, a twin, etc.) This stuff is incredibly straightforward. Blame your school system and your mother for your failures at comprehension, don't blame the MCU. No, Endgame gets tine travel wrong, 1st, none of you have answered the question: What law of time travel says that if someone is told something will happen, then that something won't happen? 2nd, it's a basic law of time travel that if a past person dies, then the present and future person ceases to exist. It's the same person so there's just no way around that basic law of time travel. This is incredibly straightforward. The Endgame writers were too stupid to understand that simple concept so they got lazy and tried to make up some bullshit excuse for their bad writing. That's actually a thing. If I tell you that you are suppose to do something, you'll most likely try too hard to do it. In most cases you trying to get to that point will cause it not to happen. Hell, that's even the explanation for Neo being The One in The Matrix. The Oracle couldn't tell him he was the one. That was something he had to figure out himself.
You do know we are dealing with the multiverse, right? The characters from the past aren't the same as the ones in the present. They didn't kill Thanos twice. They killed 2 different Thanos. That Nebula isn't the same Nebula as the one that was with the Avengers. That is not the same Gamora. Thanos, Nebula and Gamora from the current timeline never went into the future so the ones from the past are divergences. They even explained in the movie that if you take something off it's course then it starts a new timeline. They also said that it doesn't affect the current timeline. They've had multiple scenes explaining this.

They showed Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Black Panther, Bucky, Starlord, Groot, Mantis, Falcon, Nick Fury, and Maria Hill all turned to dust. But they couldn't take 5 seconds to show Ned and MJ turn to dust? Because most of them were significant characters already in the movie. They didn't show what happened to Aunt May, Happy Hogan, Jane Porter, Darcy, Thunderbolt Ross, Wong, Korg etc. Any uncertainty on whether they were to turned to dust or not is now made clear. They haven't aged so they turned to dust. This isn't gonna be your new gimmick for this particular movie is it? Like the Killmonger DNA test?

Thanks for failing to answer the question. I did answer the question, and Taylorfirst expanded upon it quite nicely. There is no reason to think that a "Pym event" must be tied to a single person. if your entire argument rests upon the techno-babble of a ficticious thing, you lost the argument before it even began. Oh dear, you even created a seperate thread about this. How embarrassing!
