Characters like Superman and Batman have lasted this long. They're not going to fade into irrelevance anytime soon. Agreed. Only dumbass MCU fans would even suggest that characters like Superman and Batman would fade into irrelevance. Someone made this excellent point on another thread that: DC goes more for the "Mythic" or "Archetypal" way of doing things.
Marvel is more about making people, not myths.I would have to agree with that. That's why DC is much better than Marvel. Because DC's characters and stories are at a much grander and mythological level. Those are the kind of characters and stories that survive the test of time. Like the stories of the Trojan War and the stories of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. Legendary stories that will be remembered forever. Superman and Batman will be remembered forever just like King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table will be remembered forever. It's MCU characters like Ant-Man, Black Panther, Black Widow, Captain America, Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange, Hawkeye, Hulk, Iron Man, Nick Fury, and Thor who will all fade into irrelevance. MCU is just a fad that will be forgotten a generation from now, just like how people of this generation have forgotten about Disco (which was a fad in the 1970s). But the DCEU will have a lasting impact and be remembered forever. Yeah, because Hawkman is just super memorable let me tell you.

It won't be a serious problem. That's not even possible. Of course it's possible. Just go ask your grandparents about what was popular when they were growing up and you'll realize you've barely heard of any of it. I know it's hard to imagine that nobody would care about superman or batman, but it's certainly possible for such a thing to happen if the characters continue to get run into the ground. Both Batman and Superman have gone through periods where they seemingly went on a downward spiral, only to bounce right back.

It's an exaggeration to prove a point. Things slowly lose relevance, not all at once. I'm sure if you asked somebody from the 1940's if Basketball and Football would vastly outdo baseball they would have told you "NO WAY, BASEBALL IS TOO ICONIC!!!" And now we know better.

Unless you think they'll be around in 1000 years, then you'll realize at some point things go out of style. Not everything. Helen of Troy. The Trojan Horse. Those stories were written thousands of years ago, but most people today have heard of those stories and future generations will continue to hear about those stories. Those stories will never fade away or be forgotten.
Same with Superman and Batman. They're the 2 most famous and most iconic superheroes in American comics and they'll never fade away or be forgotten. It's MCU characters like Ant-Man, Black Panther, Black Widow, Captain America, Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange, Hawkeye, Hulk, Iron Man, Nick Fury, and Thor that will fade away and be forgotten.

In fact, baseball is an excellent example. Baseball went through a downtime, with the World Series getting cancelled by a players strike and then the steroids era. But baseball bounced back and the ratings for the Cubs-Indians 7-game World Series were high. Baseball will never fade away or be forgotten.
Same with Superman and Batman. They had a downtime during the 1960s and 1970s, but they still remain relevant even today and will never fade away or be forgotten.

And baseball has a similar problem with the demographic being extremely old who watches it.
You're not really saying anything that dismisses my point so I'm not sure why we're keeping this up?

Baseball has faded significantly, and if you aren't aware, has a severe problem with not being able to attract a young audience, so the problem is only going to get worse if they don't fix it soon.
Pretending baseball doesn't have that problem is just ignoring the problem.

How about this; as much as I dislike the character, Harley Quinn is pretty damn popular. She was the most popular Halloween costume of 2016, and her comics regularly sell pretty well. She's also a DC character.

That's true, except at that point there wasn't the overwhelming presence of the MCU clearly dominating the DC brand.
On top of that, plenty of biggest selling brands of all time no longer exist, so yes, things can become irrelevant, but I find your comment there especially odd as in the very next sentence you say the entire genre is going to become irrelevant. So which is it?
Characters like Superman and Batman have lasted this long. They're not going to fade into irrelevance anytime soon. Characters like Superman and Batman aren't going anywhere... Because DC will just keep making stuff with them in it. New Batman series. New Superman series. New Batman animated series. New Superman animated series. The ones that need fear will be forgotten are everyone else under them. Harley Quinn might be a fad that they are latching onto until she runs her course. DC isn't really taking chances on any of their other characters and having them stand out. Would they make a Wonder Woman animated series? What about a Wonder Woman live action series along side Flash and Arrow? What about a Blue Beetle movie? They are really keeping it close to that Justice League cuff.

Doubtful, it just took a little while longer to get them into public awareness. That's always the case with fleshed out character vs flat archetypes. Archetypes are a dime a dozen.

Aside from the fact that there was a live-action Wonder Woman series in the 70s, and that there was supposed to be another one in 2011, there was a Green Lantern animated series, and there have been plans for a Blue Beetle movie for a while. Also, the Aquaman movie is currently filming.

Instead of showing that she's a strong woman who can stand up and fight for herself and kick some ass, MCU promotes their first female-led superhero movie by showing her in her bra and panties so that everybody can jerk off to her.
Such hypocrisy by you dumb MCU fans!

Facts suck, just accept it and don't play the sore drama queen.
As I told you, the reason for Harley's popularity is not sex appeal (all females in beefcake in tights universes must be super hot), but that Harley Quinn is a fascinatingly demented character - a villain you may feel sympathy or pity for; quite the opposite to the bland cardboard character Scarlet Johannson plays so colorlessly.
DC undisputedly not only has the most iconic villains beating the popularity of the superheroes, it also has the better female characters. This is why, despite the mediocre film output of the DCEU so far, there will be Supes and Bats films beyond the bubble bursting, while the MCU characters will sink back to the nerdosphere again.
And this is why your OP ramblings are dull and uninformed, dear Stanton.

Kids will love the MCU right now and so they should, afterall the whole franchise is aimed solely at the direction of kids. But once they grow up and mature, they will look back on films like The Dark Knight Trilogy and X-Men and realise what quality comic book filmmaking is all about.

Ok, listen, I was making a serious critique. If you want to turn it into a namecalling trollfest, you have fun on your own.

Is that your idea of deflection when caught with both hands in the sexist cookie jar? Stanton is a legitimate part of your user name, right? And calling women whores for not dressing like a nun is never a serious critique btw. THAT would fall under namecalling IMO!
