Why don't you pray about it. For two reasons: 1) I don't pray, and 2) I don't think that's how prayer is supposed to work. See? That wasn't so hard. You are right. I am now converted to your version of whatever it is you do or do not have a name for. Thank you, guru. Or are gurus allowable in X?

Is that you trying to have a nice conversation with me? I'm having the same snarky, bullshit argument you're having. We have more in common than you know.

Catholicism is part of Christianity. It is not its own independent religion, & in fact, the original denomination of Christianity. Do you call yourself a Catholic or a Christian? Depends upon whom I am discussing my faith with: With a fellow Christian, I will tell them that I am Catholic. With a non-christian, I say 'Christian.'

Seems appropriate to post this here I guess. Do want Christianity to be true? If so, by how much?

Do want Christianity to be true? If so, by how much? Yes, I do. A lot. how about you? Once I did, but I then found out the truth about Christianity, so it’s moot. For me, it’s like saying I wish King Arthur was true.

Seems appropriate to post this here I guess. Hmmm. Do I want to find out that the universe is indeed ruled by an all-powerful, cruel and petty-minded dictator who demands worship as the only way to escape his wrath? Think I'll take a pass.

I couldn’t reconcile reality with the myth my whole life. I’m not a mythical or spiritual thinker, so I did what the curious like me do, I looked deeper into the actual history of Christianity.

What kind of Christian? Mormon? Catholic? Orthodox? Protestant? Evangelical? New Earth? Westborough Babtist? There are so many different denomination with so many different beliefs that are so contradictory to each other that many cannot be true without others being false. If you are saying if God is real we have to Islam and Judaism in that calculation as well with all their denominations too. After all they are all worshipping the same God. Personally I'd say if it were proven that God is real (which is very unlikely), I would believe in him, but unless he answers some very pertinent questions such as did he murder every single person in the world during the flood and why to my satisfaction, I would not worship him.
Does that answer your question?

He means his kind of Christian, you know, the sect that got it completely right, unlike all the others.

He means his kind of Christian, you know, the sect that got it completely right, unlike all the others. More of a basic, generic Christian. Or, in his own words "to believe in the divinity, death & resurrection of Christ. That he died for your sins so that you can be redeemed. Repent of your sins and follow his commandments and teachings."

I have to ask for clarifications sake, though.
