I could go with both his Friday films, but would probably pick one. Most likely Part 2. But the second pick I would throw in ‘Warlock’ or ‘House’ to change it up. Probably the former because of Julian Sands wicked performance. previous threads; David CronenbergVal LewtonStuart GordonBrian YuznaTobe HooperTerence FisherWes CravenLarry CohenMario BavaPete WalkerSergio MartinoLucio FulciDario Argento

1. House - 7/10 2. Halloween H20 - 6.5/10 3. Forever Young - 6.5/10 4. Friday the 13 Part III - 6/10 5. Warlock - 6/10 6. Lake Placid - 6/10 7. Friday the 13 Part 2 - 4.5/10 8. Big Bully - 4.5/10 9. Texas Rangers - 4/10
I will never understand the appeal of the Friday the 13 movies and I especially don't understand the appeal of Part 2, even after it is explained to me. However, Part III is dumb fun and does actually manage to be creepy.

However, Part III is dumb fun and does actually manage to be creepy. It’s always been a coin toss for me between Parts 2 & 3.. usually depending on the most recent watch. But it’s hard to the explain appeal. If anything I prefer the raw, if almost scavenger/animalistic nature of Jason in his first two films. I find both quite creepy, and particularly cruel. Part 2 feels like a nightmarish campfire tale come alive… and in spite of its fragmented climax I like execution better than original. Since it’s virtually a rehash. While I find Part 3 to be the most fun, yet at the same time quite oddball. However the likes of Parts 6 & 4 usually get the high praise.. but I don’t think much of them, especially Part 6.

There is the difference. I don't find it nightmarish at all, I find it goofy. I also don't have any emotional investment in anything that is happening and unlike III it isn't fun goofy, it is dull goofy. As opposed to something like the original A Nightmare on Elm Street or Halloween. These are nightmarish, the former obviously literally. The sequels get a bit too silly for me, though I have always been a big fan of Freddy.
