I didnt trash them, Landis did. Landis' critique fits DC more though...

Whatever. If the shoe fits, buy one for the other foot. Okay, look, I know you just want to be an asshole just to annoy us, but really you're just wasting your time. It's going to be a long ride before the comic book movie high ends, so you may as well just shut while you're behind.

Show us something like Magneto hunting down what he thought was a Nazi, turns out he was an innocent man Magneto killed just because he was German and thought he was a Nazi. Gives him some inner reflection where he wonders how extreme he's becoming. No, that's nothing. If anything that was to draw a parallel between the Americans and Nazis so Magneto would be justified in killing them. Erskin is German because its needed for the plot, simple as that. Magneto doesn't go on a killing spree for no reason. And why does there need to be a scenario you described? Hes not supposed to be a hero, hes a conflicted character unlike Cap and Charles constantly throughout the film is advising him that killing his enemies will not bring him peace, what more do you want. He ultimately ignores him because thats his true nature. Its not like in Ironman 1 they forcefully show that every muslim isnt a terrorist. Its common sense. Magneto is never a conflicted character. He even argues Charles down to his point-of-view. They constantly go for the "Magneto is right" angle in the X-men movies. It's to the point where fans see him as a hero instead of a villain. Probably because Magneto drives all the movies he's in. Even more than Wolverine.

So, basically, you've just admitted that "Any discerning movie fan would agree. Wall Street Disney makes cookie cutter films. But he may also be doing some PR for friends in Warner Bros. Not really a fan of the Nolan films but they feel less manufactured than the Marvel ones. The FX scenes ARE interchangeable. It takes a special kind of corporate incompetence to have floating cities or a Hulk vs Iron Man fight and make it completely forgettable." were the words of an arrogant imbecile.

I stand by the remarks. The fight between Iron Man and the Hulk in Avengers 2 is shit. Not even close to the excitement generated by the Robocop ED 209 fight. And then they had that swarm of slow motion Ultron clones.
It's boring. I am not even a Landis fan--but he's right about this.
If you can tell me that you find the Hulk Iron Man scene as well done as the sequence in the original Robocop then I don't know what to say.
Ditto with the music. Marvel music is very generic and I dont care for Zimmer music so I am not defending that.

And you have to live with the fact that you don't know better than the rest of the world. Also, I'm blocking you. I have nothing more to say to someone I've discovered is a vicious Ant-Semite.

And I might add it was you who engaged me in discussion when I was quite finished with the thread! And I am not vicious, just do not like being told that some topics are off limits.

I realize it is a silly thing to point out in a movie forum. I've always seen Mags as the hero of the Fox X-Men. I argued this point to a stand still with Fox X-Men fans on another board. Eric is always given more and better character development than Charles in the movies. Professor X is altruistic for the sake of being altruistic there is no underlying motivation/experience for his actions. Eric is a terrorist because he was made to suffer at the hands of humans. Had Charles gone through a similar experiences with similar intensity and, decided not to go the route of violence, he'd be more credible.

Reviews and positive word of mouth is where MCU differs from those movies. Also The Dark Knight and Return of the King made over a billion and so did these two movies that you consider "masterpieces" Titanic and Avatar.

I like several marvel movies but if you can't see that he's correct you're more than a bit delusional. At least he didn't mention the lack of any real tension or the ineffectual boring villains or how most of they are as instantly forgettable as the popcorn you eat while watching them. That would really make the usual cast of sycophants gnash their teeth and whine. "But but Bond movies and stuff. boo hoo hoo. Westerns!!! How about WESTERNS?!!!!!! waaahhhh waaaahhhhh. Why hims pick on marvel?" Maybe that new Spidey movie will prove him wrong though. I hope it's good.

Because pointing out how common tropes are present in all long-running series or genres is somehow an invalid argument?
