how is it hypocritical? it's not like they're praising the western. Its hypocritical because the same old folks who now whine about their being "too many superhero" movies used to go to multiple Westerns every year. Yet when OUR generation gets a predominant genre that has multiple entries every year, "its boring and annoying". Why are you claiming the CBM genre as part of 'OUR' generation? You said you were an adult during the Vietnam war so you're probably the same age as Landis. Doesn't that make you part of his generation? Oh wait is then when you change past comments again to fit whatever you're prattling on about today? Is that why so many of your posts are edited? A dude obsessed with comic books that likes to pretend he is captain America is a bit odd. When that same guy pretends to be much younger than he is it starts becoming creepy.

According to weirdraptors profile, he is only 31 if this true. That means he is born around 1986. So he doenst nothing about vietnam war.

The same thing everyone who wasn't there for it did.

Legendary Director John Landis Trashes the Marvel Cinematic Universe
It's certainly hard to discount the enormous success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which has released 15 hit movies over the past nine years with varying degrees of success, although none of their movies are considered total flops by any means. The MCU's latest movie, Guardians of the Galaxy 2, is both a critical hit (81% on Rotten Tomatoes) and a commercial hit ($823.3 million worldwide), much like most of the other MCU movies, but the franchise certainly has no shortage of detractors. One of those is legendary director John Landis, who bluntly stated that he's "bored shitless" with the franchise in a new interview. Here's what he had to say, when asked his thoughts about shared universe's as a whole, and why Wonder Woman was received so well. "I'm just... truthfully, I'm bored shitless with the Marvel Universe now. All the superhero movies tend to be interchangeable, you always have these mass destruction of cities, and huge computer-generated extravaganzas, to the point where you could take a reel from any of the Marvel superhero movies, and put it any of the others, and nobody would notice. It's just, they're the same thing over and over again. But, I don't know, people are showing up. One of the reasons Wonder Woman has been received so well by the critics is that it doesn't destroy cities! Even the superhero stuff is on a very human scale, it's the gods! We're not seeing skyscrapers tumbling!"
I guess he didn't see Iron Man, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, Iron Man 3, Captain America: The Winter Soldier or Ant-Man. Thor only had part of a small town damaged. Iron Man 3 destroyed Tony Stark's house. Captain America: TWS only destroyed the Triskelion. Ant-Man imploded Pym Tech. None of those movies had "mass destruction of cities".

Yeah, I am beginning to think he might have been drunk when he said this. Yeah. His opinion seems to only be based on team up MCU films like Avengers, GotG, AoU, and Civil War. Then for some reason MoS, BvS, and Suicide Squad, which is odd considering he doesn't mention DC at all. MAYBE Doctor Strange, but even there they just fix the city like it never happened.

Pretty much. His entire rant is just more odd than anything else. However, I expect this is normal for someone his age. He doesn't get what all "the kids" are excited about and is reacting pretty much like any old grump.
