I don't understand how a fan of the superhero genre will draw the line at a particular brand. I've read comics my entire life and grew up watching movies and cartoons and live action tv shows for all different types of superheroes from the big 2 and other comic labels. I just don't get why some fans will draw an arbitrary line in the sand as if only one brand is good and the other is crap. Anyone that's exposed themselves to both brands knows theres something to be had from them all. Get over yourselves haters!

So right. But from what I'm seeing...it's this rivalry really is simply between one or two or three fans who are simply trying to out annoy the other one. Personally I prefer the DC heroes. I grew up with them. That said...I've loved a few of the Spiderman movies and I enjoyed Thor's movies and the loved the last Incredible Hulk movie as well...and those are all Marvel heroes. In reality...outside of the internet...with the general public...most people feel the same way you do. Again...it's about 3 or 4 guys here on both sides who are simply trying to annoy the hell out of the other group. That's it.

For some of us there is no line. There is only the people that draw the line. For people like myself there is only "Git Gud."

It's usually trolls or people with too strong of an agenda that keep this silly feud alive, people like DC-Fan over here and on other social medias like Instagram or Twitter ComedianofDC and DCSkwad. In real life, there is no beef between the two companies, many writers and artists have worked for both and producers/actors/directors have shown support for one another.

Im not saying it's not a vocal minority...just that even if it's a small percentage I still don't get it. I've enjoyed so many different heroes at different points in their history based on whatever the media is. When I was a kid I loved the Batman, Spider-Man and Xmen animated series of the early 90s. Loved the Batman movies, didn't care for the Superman movies much. There wasn't much else to choose from until the 2000s but so liked the Xmen and Spider-Man movies of those years and since then there have been a plethora of options to choose from. As far as comics go I got really into Geoff Johns and his Green Lantern comics...which got me to looking into his other stuff with the Flash. Outside of that I've loved many XMen storylines, Kick Ass, The Boys, The Authority...there are well written superheroes across he board. What matters more is the writer at the time more so than the actual character. A good writer can make something out of nothing.

Ya these jackasses on BOTH sides are annoying the hell out of me.
I like the MCU more, but I'm more excited for the future of the DCEU. Simple as that.

I agree...in part because a lot of the characters I'm familiar with in marvel have had their time whereas there's still a lot of D.C. Heroes that haven't been touched on the big screen. I'm rooting for good movies all around tho.

I enjoy DC movies as well as Marvel movies, such as the first 2 Spider-Man movies, some of the X-Men movies, and even the first 2 Fantastic Four movies (but not the 2015 Fantastic Four reboot, which was just awful). But MCU fans just want MCU to have a monopoly on all superhero movies. There are MCU fans here who hate on all the X-Men movies and want them to fail simply because they're made by Fox and not MCU.

I don't understand how a fan of the superhero genre will draw the line at a particular brand. I do. It's simple. It's just a symptom of being incredibly stupid. Of course because I like the MCU and not-so-much the DCEU so far, an idiot fanboy like DC-Fan will say I'm therefore 'a Marvel fan' despite the facts that I like Nolan's Batman trilogy. I like the DC CW shows and Gotham. Powerless was hilarious. I was pissed when that was canceled. Tudyk was so good in it. I have read several Batman comic arcs and 0 Avengers comics. (The Killing Joke, The Long Halloween, A Death in the Family, Knightfall.) The Batman: Arkham series is a goddamn masterpiece, Marvel hasn't done any games like that. There was an OK Spider-Man game more than a decade ago...but it's no Arkham. Only a very stupid person would say the above describes 'a stupid Marvel fan.' I don't think there are many that automatically like Marvel and/or automatically dislike DC. It's just that the few here (or were on IMDB) are vocal and make it seem like there's more. Anyway...dcfan just likes attention, and since he's too much a jackass to get positive attention, he gets as much negative attention as he can get and I'm sure he exaggerates all his opinions just for that negative attention.

There's of course no reason why a person can't like both DC and Marvel. Anyone who acts like one company is awesome and the other sucks is most likely a troll. That being said, it's not surprising people will have a preference. I've always preferred DC over Marvel, hence why I spend more time posting on the DCEU board, than the others. That doesn't mean I dislike the MCU, or that I'll just blindly praise anything by DC, it simply means that I like to talk about and speculate on DC more.

You are so full of shit and you know it. You are the instigator of most of the arguments on about comicbook movies on this site.

DC just isn't very well organized or particularly good that's all.
What I don't understand is why people like yourself just think everything should be treated equally.
And it's not mainly MCU fans. Marvel just produces the best products and so their fans recognize that and point to it saying that is what they like. We aren't obligated to turn around and like inferior products, lazy writing, and poor acting and directing provided elsewhere.

well, every side will blame the other, MCU fans claim retaliation for getting insulted, and DCEU fans say the same about MCU fans. now I will admit DCEU fans have been a bit more "dramatic" or aggressive since they have felt "against the ropes" which leads some people to do and say stupid things, but those who constantly stoke this annoying and semi-toxic flame, who cannot simply let it be and seek "retribution," probably have some anti-social tendencies.....regardless of side.

It's more like being a fan of a sports team. There are some fans that are a fan of a specific team. The way Marv sees it is more of being a fan of the game and not a team on either side. Some of us are like that. But at the same time we do understand that some of these teams kinda suck and there needs to be some trades.

It was the Nolan Dark Knight fans, though. I was a hardcore DC fan in 2008 when both Dark Knight and Ironman rolled out. Yeah, it was mostly the DC fans being arrogant wine-sniffing snobs picking a fight with the Marvel fandom. I switched sides when DC's film output started sucking.

Only if you mean there are great sports teams like the San Antonio Spurs who are run well and are always at the top of the game,
And then there is being a fan of the Jacksonville Jaquars who are always shit and don't seem to have a clue what they're doing.
I'm still a fan of the game, but I recognize poor efforts when I see it, and I don't sit around watching shitty games. I don't know why people like Marv would think it was odd for somebody to say they don't want to watch shitty games. It's extremely bizarre that he thinks it's bizarre for people not to want to do that.
