to each their own. original in my eyes had dreadful acting, cheesey dialogue, a horrible soundtrack, characters you can care less about - everybody looked like the same character - didn't like 3 guys have the same blond haircut and look like 'ken dolls'? i couldn't tell them apart and wasn't invested in any of the characters
now the remake had it all - great characters, great soundtrack, humor at the right time, action and adventure with some truly creepy scenes, a love story, great tale of redemption - CJ going from bad guy to good guy - it had it all! but to each their own
I agree. The remake was much better and probably my favorite zombie film. I remember thinking that this Zac Snyder guy is a genius. What happened?

Maybe "All the President's Men" although it seemed to end before the story was finished. Godfather or Godfather !!. 1 ahs Brando, !! had De Niro. Eeny, Meeny..... Butch and Sundance but turned into a travelogue halfway through Didn't recover until the shoot-out
William Goldman fan? (my favorite writer)
Read "Adventures in Screentrade," where he talks about writing All the Presidents Men and how the script is just a the first third of the actual book because that lent itself to a three act script. Great stuff. He also talks about researching Butch and Sundance and the making of the movie, great stuff.

No clue.
Not a fan of comics or the genre but I know there's a raging war on here about his comic book films.
A shame he hasn't done more 'horror/action' because DOTD 2004 was terrific IMO
This was another popular OT topic from the original sports group and I shall repeat my all time favorite movie which I think a lot of the regulars were fans of as well: Cool Hand Luke.

Schindler's List, Nashville, The Godfather are up there as what I consider the best I've seen.
But for favorites, I think more in terms of rewatchers, popcorn films. Back to the Future, City of Lost Children, ...
There are some straddlers. 2001, Das Boot, ...
That is a very valid point. The one that I listed, Les Enfants du Paradis, is the film that blew me the farthest away, so to speak, but I have only watched it twice and even though I own the blu-ray I never have the urge to watch it again – whereas I could watch Raiders of the Lost Ark or Amélie or Back to the Future or Star Wars over and over again.

Since you asked for favorites and not necessarily what I consider the BEST films, depending on the day of the week I alternate between The Terminator and Terminator 2.

Great point. I can watch The Matrix, Star Wars films, MCU films, etc. many times and never get bored while some 'better' movies tend to not get a rewatch. Although I still can watch The Godfather any time.
