I am sorry, but anyone who has both AvP movies over Aliens cannot be taken seriously. Comes down to personal taste. I'm a horror freak. Which is why I love the AvP movies. Now 'Aliens' was a decent flick - but to me - I just don't get all the love it garners. Some people view it as the superior film to Alien. To each their own. We all have different tastes. But to me 'Aliens' was just like T2 - yes - it was decent - but receives so much adulation from fanboys because it was a 'summer blockbuster' so to speak - I'm betting with a budget along the lines we had never seen before - especially in regards to their predecessors. Now this doesn't make T2 and Aliens bad movies - quite the contrary - I'm a fan - but I just don't hold it dear to my heart like some do. Now the AvP movies? A guilty pleasure. I own all of the above (except for Covenant which I've yet to even see). I've put the AvP movies in for a watch countless times over the years as opposed to Aliens - just comes down to personal taste for me - 2 iconic figures going at it. Popcorn flick - and mindless fun - especially AvP:R. I prefer Alien to them all easily. It is one of my favorite movies of all time so I get what you are saying, but Aliens is just better everywhere than either AvP movie. It is better acted, better written, etc.

Like the first Terminator, he did very much with very little. It wasn't until after Aliens that the studios started throwing money at him. T2 was 5-6 years later. Alien = Horror Aliens = Action Both excel.

Again - not hating on 'Aliens' - it's a decent flick - just not my cup of tea - I'd rather watch the darkness and doom and gloom of A3 and the AvP movies. I think a lot of fans ripped on AvP - somebody correct me if I'm wrong - but not being 'Rated R' - AvP:R pretty much fixed this even though many regard the film as utter slop.

John Carpenter's THE THING
![](http://news.toyark.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2016/10/john-carpenters-the-thing-poster.jpg)
![](https://static.wixstatic.com/media/eeff86_3dac99d5393a4286ad2fa3329953de22~mv2.gif) I wish so much Carpenter would do a sequel with Kurt Russell, not like that lame "prequel" that came out a couple years ago.

The first thing you see when you come into my basement ![](http://www.abideposters.com/eastwoodforum/movieposterchecklist/GBU/US_6SH.jpg) Hey Goodman, I have the bluray where they added the never before seen scenes and Wallach and Eastwood, todays' versions, did the looping for the scenes shot in the 60s. Wallach sounds pretty close to the same voice, but Eastwood sounds like a bad impersonator trying to do an Eastwood impression. Have you seen this version? There's just a couple scenes with this but it really sticks out. I have seen the deleted scenes. With the sound quality and film quality, they seem like they were shot years after the heart of the movie was. Many times, I love deleted scenes. The Godfather extra scenes should be added to the movie permanently. But the scenes from TGTBTU deserve to be left on the cutting room floor. A curiosity, nothing more.

Since this board is descended from IMDb, the main purpose of which was to browse and discuss movies, this is a valid question. I'll still mark it as OT though because, like it or not, this isn't IMDb. The Godfather (1972)Perfect movie. Every single scene, every single line. Can't be beaten. Yours? I have many favorites. Hard to narrow it down to just 1.

In some instances some of Leone's regular left in film should have been cut. I always felt all his films could have used a little more editing. Once Upon a Time in the West most of all, IMO, the most overrated of his movies.

BvS was definitely better than that awful and crappy Captain America: Civil War.

Predator and Freddy Vs. Jason get . relax people - this ain't meant to be 'The Shining' or 'Jaws' - they're fun popcorn flicks where we get to see two icons of the genre going at it ![](https://s26.postimg.org/s8tffwvq1/cheers.gif) ![](https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/419E66HK1FL._SY445_.jpg)

greatest/favorite comedy of All-Time - like others have stated in this thread - guess it depends on the day of the week - but today I'm going:

It would be between Downfall, The Departed, Once Upon A Time In The West, No Country for Old Men, and Unforgiven. That's the Top 5, no clue what order
If I had to pick, probably Downfall, though I rewatched The Departed more than any other movie

I can watch that movie over and over and still laugh as hard as the first time.

One of the greatest 'Black Comedies' ever. Almost on par with 'American Psycho'. ![](https://s26.postimg.org/s8tffwvq1/cheers.gif) Come on.
