Manhunter is totally awesome - best US drama i have seen in ages. hopefully another series is coming. I'm not sure, but I think you are referring to the Netflix original series Mindhunter. Manhunter is a film based on the Thomas Harris book Red Dragon. That I believe is what Frank was talking about. Regarding the Mindhunter tv series I agree. I binge watch it. I could not stop it was so good. There is good news, Mindhunter has been renewed for season 2.

"It rubs the lotion on it's skin or else it gets the hose again" - Jamie Gumb aka Buffalo Bill Silence of the Lambs - A masterpiece in the study of serial killers. Great acting throughout. It still outshines the movies that try to duplicate it. For the movies, SOTL > Manhunter > Red Dragon > other crappy sequels, but Manhunter is pretty awesome. For the books, Red Dragon > SOTL > all the other books are terrible William Peterson is brilliant as Will Graham in Manhunter. That said - I loved Red Dragon too and think Edward Norton did a decent job. I think Hannibal gets crapped on too much even though I'd put SOTL, Red Dragon and Manhunter above it - Julianne Moore did a decent job as Starling but it missed Foster's presence....

Any thoughts on the Hannibal TV series with Mads Mikkelsen? I thought it was immaculate - ended too soon.

Given you're asking my personal favourite and not asking which is the most tecnically outstanding or whatever I'll have to go with Empire Strikes Back, with honourable mentions to Braveheart. The Adventures of Ford Fairlane and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1989).

Rewatched Blade Runner last night. It was only fitting, since it takes place in November 2019. The future is soon to be the past. On a similar note, it's crazy to think Harrison Ford is younger in Blade Runner than I am now. Cringe.
Anyway, one of the many reasons I know it's my favorite film is the amount of time I can spend talking about it no matter how many times I've seen it. Also, for a movie that some complain is too slow, it flies by for me. I didn't have any major revelations this rewatch, but it did make me want to give Blade Runner 2049 another try. Didn't like that movie at all. Saw it twice in theaters seeing if I would come around on it, but I couldn't. It's like they wanted to remake Blade Runner but were afraid to, so they just called it a sequel instead. I've seen BR a million times and I still can't believe how fucking good it is. How unique it is in so many ways. The Final Cut is the superior version.
Some people like to catch up on movie viewing at the end of the year, I'm the opposite and see it as a time of reflection. Tonight I think I'll watch another of my all time favorites, Brotherhood of the Wolf. A genre mashup if ever there was one, and as moody an actioner as you're going to find.

I re-watched Blade Runner for the first time in probably about 20 years just before BR 2049 came out and I have to say I didn't find it nearly as good as my memory of it was.

It's between Blade Runner 2049, Raging Bull, and Jurassic Park.
