Since this board is descended from IMDb, the main purpose of which was to browse and discuss movies, this is a valid question. I'll still mark it as OT though because, like it or not, this isn't IMDb.
The Godfather (1972) Perfect movie. Every single scene, every single line. Can't be beaten.
Yours?

I've gone back and forth on this over the years, but I'm going to have to say Blade Runner. I love everything about it, even the mistakes.

Any right-minded person vacillates on this.
Today, I'm going to say Miller's Crossing.
Ask me again tomorrow.

The Godfather will never be beaten. The acting, the writing, the cinematography, the score, etc. All perfect. Seriously perfect. It is very difficult for any movie, no matter how good, to be perfect and The Godfather is.

Maybe "All the President's Men" although it seemed to end before the story was finished. Godfather or Godfather !!. 1 Has Brando, !! had De Niro. Eeny, Meeny..... Butch and Sundance but turned into a travelogue halfway through Didn't recover until the shoot-out

Yes - the 2004 remake is tremendous ![](https://s26.postimg.org/s8tffwvq1/cheers.gif) It's pretty good but not a patch on the original. meh. to each their own. original in my eyes had dreadful acting, cheesey dialogue, a horrible soundtrack, characters you can care less about - everybody looked like the same character - didn't like 3 guys have the same blond haircut and look like 'ken dolls'? i couldn't tell them apart and wasn't invested in any of the characters ![](https://s26.postimg.org/gf93ycxax/giveup.gif) now the remake had it all - great characters, great soundtrack, humor at the right time, action and adventure with some truly creepy scenes, a love story, great tale of redemption - CJ going from bad guy to good guy - it had it all! but to each their own ![](https://s26.postimg.org/s8tffwvq1/cheers.gif)

Can't say. Would probably change my mind dozens of times.
Gonna say Jaws for arguments sake though.

Schindler's List, Nashville, The Godfather are up there as what I consider the best I've seen.
But for favorites, I think more in terms of rewatchers, popcorn films. Back to the Future, City of Lost Children, ...
There are some straddlers. 2001, Das Boot, ...
