If I recall, the ending of IM1 was somewhat controversial among certain online circles back in the day. It was VERY controversial and pissed off TONS of fans back in the original IMDB days. I still think the idea of a secret identity for a superhero is cool.

In truth, and that's just me, I always found RETURNS as being much more dark, disturbing and "family-unfriendly" than BATMAN 1989. And I must say that I have always read reviews here in Italy pointing out at that. IMHO, RETURNS had less success because it was more twisted and bizarre than its predecessor, and depicted some disturbing themes and imaginery. Sorry what I meant was not too dark and weird, like Returns was, but not as overly kid friendly and whacky like Forever and & Robin were, Returns was a Tim Burton movie with Batman in it, whilst Batman 89 was a Batman movie with Burton flair to it, Returns also freaked me out as a kid, and I grew up loving Terminator and Predator 1 & 2 respectively, but Penguin in Returns just fucking freaked me out something rotten. This is the fucking best description of the "difference" between 1 and 2 I have ever read. I'm a HUGE Keaton's Batman fan. I love those two movies to the nth degree. Well, the movie was dark, bleak and melancholic, and Catwoman's origin sequences and disturbing personality scared the shit out of me at the time. I was only 15 when I watched the movie, you know, I was born in 1977... Pinguin was scary. His death was 100% gruesome and impressive. No wonder that the movie freaked out the parents and just fucked with Warner Bros's policy at the time. LOL

I meant: it was considered the best in the "new superhero era", before the rise of Nolan's Batman and the MCU. By many standards, "Superman: The Movie" is still the perfect superhero movie and I would say that it's surely the "perfect superhero origin movie". Batman 1989 was never considered a masterpiece, even back in the Nineties; I would say that RETURNS was regarded as being better by many in the 1990s. but not overly kid friendly and whacky like Returns In truth, and that's just me, I always found RETURNS as being much more dark, disturbing and "family-unfriendly" than BATMAN 1989. Spider-Woman was created (as animated character) in 1979. The TV series was a moderate hit here in Italy, and I loved it. It was wonderful. Well, Jessica's origins for the TV series were a bit different. As child, she was bitten by a spider, and her father (a scientist) used on her an experimental "Spider Serum" of some sort. That combination gave her spider powers. Her comic book origins, well, I think those were conceived in 1980, not before. Her origin was published in 1978...it was one of the first comics in my collection She first appeared in print in 1977 in Marvel Spotlight She wasn't created for TV. She was actually created initially to prevent other publishers taking the name. DC sued Marvel for having a "Wonder" Man. And later DC introduced Power Girl after Marvel's Power Man. So she was initially created to prevent any possible copyright issues. GEEZ! I'm getting old. My apologies. You're 100% right. That said, the TV series later changed her origin. P.s: I loved her first "HYDRA" outfit, without the hair getting out of her mask.

Any chance to see Scott Lang in his Giant-Man outfit for chapter 3? And even having the film title renamed after "Giant-Man"? Wouldn't that be cool? I think so.

Even if I'm an Iron Man fan, I must say that Captain America's story-arc was absolutely great.

Iron Man Thor Captain America The First Avenger Captain America The Winter Soldier Ant-manWell, I loved it because: 1- I love superheroes able to change their size. 2- The movie felt like a superhero/action/adventure/comedy hybrid coming from the glorious EIGHTIES. 3- The special effects were terrific. 4- The final fight was 100% groundbreaking and never seen before.

Glad to see FC so close to X2. In the 2000s, before TDK, X2 was undoubtedly regarded as the best superhero movie along with "Spider-Man 2". No it was considered one of the best, along with Spidey 2, Batman 89, Batman Begins and even Superman I think, I meant: it was considered the best in the "new superhero era", before the rise of Nolan's Batman and the MCU. Less or more... but she was put in suspended animation as child for years, and awoke as a woman. That's weird and interesting. Who did this first Marvel or Thundercats? That sound just like Lion-O from the original Thundercat cartoon, I liked it. Spider-Woman was created (as animated character) in 1979. The TV series was a moderate hit here in Italy, and I loved it. Only CA: TFA, CA: TWS, and Infinity War. Before anyone calls me a troll, each one has its reasons for being great and each one I don’t mention has its reasons for not being great. I’m not just pulling these picks out of my ass. Proper and legit.

The second part of it could have been better and more epic. The first part is pure, pure, pure perfection.

All 3 main Iron Man villains were "what if" versions of Stark. Yeah. It worked in the first one but it got repetitive after a while. However I do think Killian from 3 is a step up since he had way more to do in that movie than Justin Hammer in this. And he was a more serious character. Hammer was "clownish".

Well, I can see that you're a huge Deadpool fan. I never liked the character that much, honestly, but the movies were wonderful. Not a huge Deadpool fan really. Just nice to see a Fox CBM that doesn't shy away from the source material, feel the need to be overly grounded As you already know, the X-Men original trilogy was conceived and produced in a transitional era. They launched the idea of "vaguely grounded" superhero movies, which in turn inspired Nolan and his Batman. The MCU did the opposite. Nothing wrong with either the ways, since they both were extremely successful. The MCU debuted 10 years later, when public perception was finally ready for a more faithful adaptation. Talking about progression. The X-Men Beginnings Trilogy and DP are much more "comic book-ish".

I think we will discover the truth on August 28th, 2020. Can't believe this is gonna be relased. It's contractually obligated to. Not hard to believe. It's basically being dumped in theaters and will likely only last a week to satisfy the requirements. Depending on the details of the contract, it will either immediately go to Disney Plus soon after or to HBO Max. The film is cursed and will quickly be dismissed and forgotten. It was doomed from the beginning anyway. Well, I don't care. If the movie is great, I will enjoy it the same. Dismissed and forgotten? You can't really know that. A horror/superhero hybrid movie. That's material for serious cult movie lore.

I think the thing that scares/ scared people away from Iron Man 2 is that it is the 1st MCU movie taking place in the MCU. Hulk and Iron Man are MCU movies, but not really in the universe. They kept crying about it being an advertisement for Avengers because they couldn't mentally handle it actually leading to something bigger. GREAT INSIGHT. You nailed it.
