I was actually pleasantly surprised to find that Killmonger wasn't actually an American soldier villain. He happened to be an American soldier, but he was actually a Wakandan who was left behind by his father who was a spy, and he joined the American military to learn the ways of his enemies in order to conquer them when he became king. It was nice to see someone like Everett Ross, a former member of United States Air Force, end up being one of the heroes of the story. He was more of an American soldier than a Wakandan citizen, given that hed never been there. His training and combat skills were learned on the battle field in Iraq and Afghanistan, not the waterfall arenas in Wakanda. Agreed. Killmonger had never been to Wakanda. His mother was an American so he was probably born in the US and has full US citizenship and served in the US military. So Killmonger is really an American soldier.

It is quite a contrast to WW where the American soldier is a straight up good guy. Yep, Black Panther is another MCU movie where an American soldier is a bad guy. There was General Ross in The Incredible Hulk, Bucky Barnes in Winter Soldier, and now Killmonger in Black Panther. Steve Trevor, like General Swanwick and Colonel Hardy, is an American soldier who is a good guy. So DC has no guts.

That there is exceptions and grey areas in real life. It is like no American Soldier has done anything wrong in the 240+ years. Also it's like no heroes in the MCU are Soldiers. Oh yeah there is Captain America, Falcon, War Machine, Peggy Carter (British but still a soldier working with Americans), Colonel Phillips, and The Howling Commandos which there were 6 of.
