I don't think people mind characters developing they just don't like what was done with Hulk. I suppose the angry Hulk Smash routine gets old after awhile but Hulk was very popular initially. He was considered one of the highlights of the first Avengers movie. Fair enough they wanted to change the character into this Professor Hulk now and it is different but people aren't keen on it. He was meant to be the strongest there is, which he was at first but now there's loads stronger than him to the point he don't serve much purpose. They need to bring back the Hulk everyone likes. They need to World War Hulk him. But that Hulk has no future as a character. Which? The angry Hulk Smash version of the character? Like I said they could have just done their version of World War Hulk. Made him the strongest and most dangerous version of himself while being an antagonist. It could have still worked and still been development for him because WWH Hulk could still talk and had a degree of intelligence about him. Whereas now instead they've practically blurred the line between Hulk and Bruce Banner which has meant that Hulk has been greatly nerfed when him being one of the strongest around is meant to be his thing.

Yeah but his character has become worse and far more unpopular because of it. Because "fans" are allergic to character development.
Probably the same people who get made whenever Peter Parker is allowed to be more than a Photographer.

Hulk as a mindless Ragebeast has run his course, there's no real point to him anymore. Banner getting to where he is...it's called character development. Yeah but his character has become worse and far more unpopular because of it.

I was not impressed by the Marvel Disney Plus shows in 2022. Here's hoping there's an improvement next year.

They'll make this but not Spider-Man 4.

Sad news.
And focusing on Superman's earlier life...Smallville did that, Superman 1978 and Man of Steel did that. Now it's being done again? Bet were gonna have Lex Luthor as a villain yet again too.

Just to point out, I only asked for myself personally to be removed as mod. It seems the Admin just didn't think there was a need after that to have either. Board is quieter now than it used to be and I hadn't had much to do in months.

Coincidence, as I asked for it to be unstickied just yesterday too. Done now anyway. Aren’t you a mod? Not anymore, I asked that I be removed from that.

It didn't flop. It dropped off a lot from the high magnitudes of the original which was expected but did not flop.

Possibly the weakest phase. Weaker than phase 2 and far weaker than phase 3.
Spider-Man was the obvious standout. Black Widow and Eternals two of the weakest MCU movies so far. You could maybe include Thor 4 in as well.
Didn't mind WandaVision, was better than I expected. The shows this year Ms Marvel, Moon Knight and She Hulk have been weak too. Didn't care for the two specials either.
With Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow and Black Panther gone it's harder to care and they've not really been building to anything in the same capacity they did with Thanos.

Yeah it was alright. The parts on Knowhere far eclipsed the parts on Earth.

Yeah too much stuff is coming out too quick. Unfortunately Phase 4 has been a very mixed bag.
Since Shang Chi, just a little over a year ago there's been six movies, four movies and (soon) two TV specials.
And how many of them have been that great really? I liked Shang Chi, Spider-Man was fantastic, Hawkeye was entertaining and that's about it. I haven't seen Black Panther 2 yet but it's not much really.

Finished watching today. There was some dodgy CGI and questionable humour like with that Megan Stallion but I don't think it was nearly as bad as I'd expected.
Always good to see Wong and Daredevil. Good to see Abomination....but don't think I like how he was done. Hulk too.
I preferred it over Ms Marvel and Moon Knight anyway.

I did think it was gonna do much better than it did. Dwayne Johnson is a big star and this was the first big movie in months. It was also a movie talked about for years.
It's domestic total after four weekends is only on par with Eternals too which is the biggest MCU flop. It'll likely surpass it in the end but still.
I'd have thought this would have cleared $600 million for sure.

They need to do something with him. Hulk as Hulk ain't much of a character, he's angry and he's the "strongest there is". The thing there though is that he's not anymore.
He's not even in the Top 5 strongest heroes now, Thor, Scarlet Witch, Doctor Strange, Iron Man, Captain Marvel all surpassed him.
They need the World War Hulk storyline. Bring back the popular Hulk that people loved and make him a threat.

Ragnarok made $741 million without China and then $718 million without Russia.
Love and Thunder is currently at $663 million so once it's all finishes it's gonna be similar.
It'll pass Ragnarok domestically.

I remember these were pretty good and then they just kept using the same small number of characters over and over.
